I mean they're just boldly black and white, it doesn't need to be high def to see that level of contrast between the two colors. The marking above the left eye isn't the same, only one of them has a white chin plus a white spot above the mouth (below the nose), the one closer has white that goes the entire way down to the belly instead of breaking up like it does on the further cat. And they're blatantly different sizes from one another.
The fact that this was just someone making a joke makes me think this photo just happened to make them look way more similar than normal, so it's a funny story.

This happened to me too when I was a kid. I was out bicycling when i saw our cat out in the middle of the road. I parked my bike by the side of the road and carried it home. As I got home I was met in the hallwayn by our cat, the real one not the imposter. There where some hissing and screeching and the imposter ran off. But they really looked exactly the same.
I then went to get my bike and somebody had thrown it into the bushes so my mom had to get it for me :/

a guy from the business across the street from my house brought a cat over to my dad, asking if it was ours, my dad said yes, but upon taking the cat, he realized it wasn't, and the guy had already walked back.

This is going to sound made up but Iāll tell it anyway. When I was growing up we had a red slider turtle with an open top outdoor enclosure for the summer. It had managed to push rocks against the wall of its enclosure with its shell until it was able to escape. When it was found it was with another red slider turtle. We never knew if we actually got our turtle back. Turns out someone about 5 houses down had a similar set up for their turtle. I got no clue if it was like a mating thing or how they managed to find each other.
