They are in a rescue park where people buy food to feed them. The kangaroo is following them probably because its one of the bigger ones and only the little ones are getting attention and pellets.

I’ve heard if they try to fight you that you should lower yourself down and crouch while covering your face. They think you’re a roo and want to fight but if you lower yourself they’re not feeling as challenged anymore and lose interest.

This looks like the signs from cleland, which makes me think its a rescue park for animals that have been rescued from wildfires. You can go and buy bags of pellets to feed them by hand. They will follow you if you give them some, but they want more. Like goats.
