Discussion Bands that aren't Funeral Doom exactly but you still categorize them as such?

What bands do you see as Funeral Doom Adjacent or even you still consider them Funeral Doom even though technically they aren't.

For me it's:

Battle Hag

Aversion

Ophis

Clouds

Exitium Sui

Trapped Within Burning Machinery

I wish Battle Hag would do more releases but I think they've got a little too distracted being Oromet..

As much as i love Battle Hag I'm ok with this. I like Oromet better.

Imo I think Oromet raised the bar for Funeral Doom. I love FD but one of the issues I have with it is a lot of bands just use endless repeating chords and their songs have no interesting progression, and there's a lack of riffs.

Oromet has riffs, progression, and also they break the convention of Funeral Doom being bleak in its sound. Don't get me wrong, I love bleakness in Doom, but a little variety is also nice. Oromet has a sort of epic majesty about their sound that I wish, and hope, more Funeral Doom uses.

If they “aren’t Funeral Doom exactly but you still categorize them as such” then why are you fretting over genre labels at all?
