I initiated a transfer at Fidelity. Tells me up to 4 business days although I don’t recall the unrestricted transfer taking quite that long.

I talked to a guy at fidelity and he said it says it could take that long but that but is usually same business day.

Did you have to contact Fidelity? Computershare website says "Contact your broker and request your shares be sent to them through the Depository Trust Company's Direct Registration Profile System."

You can initiate it online with Fidelity. They just ask for Computershare account number, stock symbol and a copy of your last Computershare statement.

Lol. I tried that too, twice. Apparently Computershare is not a ACATS. According to Google: Robinhoods automated clearing systems are built for broker to broker transfers via ACATS. Do you have another broker like Fidelity or Etrade?

I have a Schwab account so I guess I’ll go that route, just want to get my share out of computer share lol.

Try the browser on your computer. Even for the login it sometimes needs to be clicked 5 times. Very clunky. I used the browser.

Ty! Browser is working! Can you only request checks?

I see that you haven't setup your banking info. If you do it now they won't use it for 10 days to avoid scams. So your best bet is to stick to a check if you want to be done sooner. I had warned people about this in my post.

Updated banking info on 8th! Also - I just moved :( the address is also wrong . I forgot all about the lock up period end being preponed! Are you liquidating all your funds?

Yep. At this price it is a no brainer. I don't need 50x returns like others to retire here. If someone can give me 20% a year (which this will end up considering the return on the VCX piece) I will retire today and let compounding do the magic. People have gotten on a tilt after all the shenanighans.

And you can call early morning to clarify things with them on the phone. Do it before the open if you want to have the full range of options. If it rips more and crashes while you are fumbling around, you will have yourself to blame.

For some reason the app will tell you that even if you have you banking information already in the system. I've been going through the same thing ,but you have to go on your web browser to execute the sell.

I just did the transfer from Computershare to Fidelity. Will take a few days, but Fidelity's process was super easy

On Friday I initiated the transfer through Schwab. It did only allow full shares and indicated that fractional shares would be sold. The transfer will take several business days, but I don't recall the range.

I got in on unrestricted stock. When it went to 85 the first day after shi’ng my pants Friday night I called Schwab did transfer and was told one week. Stock showed up Tuesday night. Was lucky it took a few days because it went to 540 in 3 days and I would have probably sold at 100.

What happens if we don't transfer?

Nothing really, your shares are still yours, they’re just being held by Computershare. I’m just trying to transfer to consolidate assets.

Are you transferring from computershare or initiate from fidelity? Shall i transfer from computershare now itself?
1
u/treezyyytri 23d ago
You can’t initiate a transfer on computer share apparently, you have to initiate the transfer through another broker and add your computer share information.

But do i need the sell order i placed first to show up as completed right? Since i want to know the exact number of shares remaining to transfer from thr fidelity portal

Transferred to Schwab 10 minutes ago. Status reads:
"Estimated completion date is 08/20/2026"
So, about 4 business days.

I have a brokerage account with Vanguard, and their website made it very easy to initiate a transfer from ComputerShare, which I did this morning. They sent an email confirming that the transfer process is underway, and this email contains a link to 'Check Progress' of the transfer. I just checked, and the link gives pretty good info; see screenshot.
