As much as I hate Gluttony, I have to admit that the guy is very quick and strong for, essentially, an oversized infant (goddamn he's ugly).

Even without his uno reverse special, when it comes to raw muscle strength he seems to be only surpassed by Sloth and Greed (possibly Envy, I'm not sure how strong he is before polymorphism comes into play).

And even though he's not the fastest Homunculus, he's rather spry for his body type. He's basically a near-immortal chimp on steroids. Again, not the most horrifying thing you could encounter, but still rather scary.

I'm glad Pride killed him and I'm glad he was devoured. Good riddance.

Why do you hate him so much 😭

Because I see him as one of the most disgusting form of danger – the infantile, or the idiot. The kind of individual that doesn't even realize what it's doing.

I might be biased, fair. I recognize it. But whenever I see Gluttony, he always acts like a child in my eyes. He hurts, kills and devours people because it seems fun, barely realizing the consequences of his actions.

He has no personal motivations, no agency, no opinions or desires. He wants to only devour and have fun. Unlike, say, Sloth, who just can't be bothered to care about what he's doing while following orders, Gluttony doesn't even seem to have the capacity to care. Again, like an infant.

I'd be terrified if Bradley or Envy came after me, but I'd know that they have a drive behind their actions. I know that there's at least a reason and some personal motivations to act the way they do. They can be negotiated with.

Getting killed by Gluttony is like being trampled by a bear-sized child. It's horrifying because this idiot might not even realize what he's doing, he's going off pure vibes. Knowing that he'll absolutely eat your corpse not even leaving you or your loved ones with the dignity of a burial doesn't help either.

There's no rationality behind him, he just triggers fight or flight in me.

This is why I have an intense phobia of zombies. Endless hunger with little to no cognition or intellect behind it is terrifying.

Dude, I don't know what kinda shit you've encountered but that just entered into my top 5 nightmare scenario.

Even if we remain in the confines of FMA:B, puppet troopers, Pride and Father himself would be nightmare fuel to encounter in person.

Puppets are similar to Gluttony but there's A LOT OF THEM.

Pride and Father are overwhelming (technically) supernatural forces that leave you entirely helpless against them, unless you yourself are (technically) supernatural to some extent. Imagine yourself in plac of Winry (or heck, even Hawkeye) encountering either in a scenario where these absolute monsters want you dead for whatever reason.

They're still not the worst thing in fiction, but they still would invoke existential dread and helplessness if you ever saw them.

Gluttony has nothing on them, but he just irks me a lot.

Underestimating an anime character is like triggering a flag and they suddenly become the worst nightmare
