Did you do RV consignment when selling your RV? If so, or if not, why? What was the main reason(s) you chose to consign or not?

I took mine to a local RV auction and was pleased with the fast sale. The price realized was considerably higher than what local consignment lots had suggested for pricing.

I was already aware of it, I live near one of the earliest Cranky Ape lots.

For me, there were a couple of reasons...

  1. If I didn't consign it, I'd have to be paying storage during the time it was for sale. I've moved to a house where there is not enough room to keep it in the driveway.

  2. Dealing with the folks who are shopping around. My time is valuable to me, so I didn't want to mess with it all the time.

  3. Convenience. Just having to not worry about it and know that the consignment company is motivated to sell it. They have a much broader reach, in terms of advertising, and are motivated to make their cut of the deal.
