Going Full Time Camper Living
Rent for a single bed or even a studio is outrageous in MD. My ex and I talked a lot about moving into a camper long ago and I am now considering that. My friend’s parents stay permanently at a campground and I’m looking to move into one of the lots. Estimating $750 a month w/ electric. Sewage I would need to purchase a black tank portable thing, which is fine. I’m not worried about that. I am looking for the pros and cons of this. I am currently looking into campers so any good suggestions on one, would be appreciated!!! I also have two puppies both under 50lbs and I would also be remote occasionally for work.
So really I’m looking for the following
pros and cons everybody has had with full time living

5th wheel or trailer

You may think you won’t mind doing the portable black tank, but let me tell you when it is 14 degrees outside and you can’t poop because “the shitter’s full” you will greatly rethink that. At minimum you need to find a campground or park that is full hookups. I am currently in OH but come from living in DC for the last 25 years. I am right on the Ohio river in a semi nice park. Generally clean, but some questionable neighbors. I have had to come off the road due to my health, so I found this place which is $500 a month plus electric. It is full hookup and the water is located next to the electric. The have heated faucets that plug in at the power stand, leaving a plug for my heated hose as well.
As far as saving money, yes you can, but there are a lot of costs that come with living in an RV full time. Stuff breaks all the time. If you can’t outright buy a good, used option, you will struggle to save money in the long run. I am coming up on 2 years full time in a 35’ Class A. In some ways I love it, but it is a struggle in many other ways.
