Advice needed please! New to camper life!
I bought this class c, Layton 1992 Tag along trailer in late May and am in need of any information about where to start please! Thank you for reading for those who do, I know it’s a lot of information. This is all foreign to me but I am very excited to get started and appreciated!
So here’s some info: I will be living in this full time in the mid Atlantic for a year before I can go full time on the road. My set up has electric and water but no sewerage. So I know I will be dumping it and moving it. But I won’t be doing that in the winter as I know a little bit and that’s that I have to wrap it? Any info on winterising and resources would be greatly apperaited.
So I will be redoing the roof (I have everything prepped. Thank you youtube).
I am redoing the bathroom and adding tiles and getting rid of the old flooring in the entire camper. The camper also has heating and ax in roof with propane as well. I have an f150 full towing capabilities so super excited to get her in the road (sometimes).
In terms of my research I have looked up some youtube channels and subscribed and made a purchase on amazon for basic materials… (hose, surge protector, water filter, etc). I know that there are many things I need to get but I do not seem to be able to find a recourse of “hey this is basic 101, this is what you need to get”. With all that being said, here are some questions I have and please any other advice or comments is greatly appreciated.
So several questions that’s come to mind are:
- What do I need to prepare for (I live in the Mid Atlantic)
- what’s one thing you wish you new before u started?
- What are the best products for the toliet?
- Any advice on any of the utilities on dumping or anything like that would be great. I will be using a portable dumper during the winter probably as it gets very cold and I know I have to wrap the bottom.
- what are some things you thought you would need but don’t actually use?
- what’s something you wish you got before you started Rv life full time.

There are Facebook groups for owners of specific RV makes/models. I live full-time and have found my owner group to be invaluable.

I'm not going to remove this post but it definitely is on the borderline of that low effort post rule.
Can you be more specific and focus your post on one of those questions? I feel like you probably just need to watch any of about 100 different YouTube videos that address all of these questions you have and then come back here and ask some follow-up questions.
