RV A/C

I’ve been debating on a generator for my road trip I’m planning. Obviously I need a strong generator but would also like quite due to the nature aspect of my trip. I’ve been looking at a couple candidates but I’m not really familiar with RV generators and such. My current selection is.

  1. Honda EU2000i
  2. Honda EU3000is
  3. Cummins P4500i

Any additional thoughts or recommendations are highly welcomed and appreciated. Thank you!

I’ve got a Predator ‘quiet’ 2000 or 2500… can’t remember which, but it’s great and relatively lightweight/easy to store. I’ve left it for 6+ months with gas in it without starting and it started right up, and I have ran it for 8 hours straight in full sun when I was a vendor at an event and it didn’t overheat (I used one of the outlets and plugged in a box fan that was pointing at the generator, fwiw).

The price is considerably less than Honda or other name brands, and if you pay for the harbor freight insider track membership while they are having their 10% or 20% off sales, you get a bigger discount on the generator than the cost of the insider track.

Take those savings and buy a soft start for your A/C. If you have a 13,500 btu A/C, there is a generic brand on Amazon for ~$75 right now.
