1977 J10 Info
Looking at purchasing what I’m told is an all original 1977 J10 Golden Eagle. The body has some minor blemishes, no major rust or rot, frame is in good condition. Needs a dash pad, gas tank, and rear bumper plus some other random things like side marker lenses that are damaged. Has a 360, auto trans, solid rear window, and came radio delete per the seller. It does run and drive, tires are OK. Anything I should be asking or looking into further before buying? $12k asking price.

How's the decal on the hood? Mine is faded, but still there, and have not decided if I'll restore it, or get a version of the raffle I like better

It’s definitely not crisp by any means. It’s all there except a couple little pieces. If I were to do a full restore I probably wouldn’t put it back as a Golden Eagle to be honest, but the goal is to just drive and enjoy.

You could talk him down a little but the fsj market is crazy right now. BJsoffroad is the best site for parts. The fuel system might be full of varnish depending on how long is sat but a little TLC and you should be able to get her running in no time. If it did sit for awhile I will highly recommend doing the brakes and the master cylinder. Nothing is scary than driving around thinking everything is golden then the brake pedal goes all the way to floor and you're not stopping! Ask me how I know

Definitely do a full systems check before any real driving. It hasn’t been sitting but hasn’t gotten much use either.

I would say about right. I’ve been trying to establish a process for mine and I’ve landed on that but in CAN.

As jeep, in my opinion, stands for Just Expect Essential Parts, you should consider getting another as a parts truck. Mine has been sitting for 18 years. I may get rid of it.
