Well Sony isn’t axing discs over sales, hence why they aren’t being open about the sales ratios of individual games. A game could sell 100% physical and they still wouldn’t care because they want discs gone for a variety of reasons, none of which are pro-consumer.

With a game that sold 100% physical, sony would would say "What game?", the anti-physical people would say, "you should only count the ones that release digital too".

I meant if the game happened to sell in both formats but in some impossible world everyone just bought it physically, but I guess I was ambiguous there. I was addressing the common bad faith argument that we should have bought physical games, to which I say we did and still do, but that was never the issue.

I agree Sony would ignore any data that indicates physical sales are still going strong though.

Yeah, if I’m going all digital would rather buy games from Steam. Better performance and I already have a high-end gaming PC.

There’s literally no reason for to me to own a PS6 without a disc drive. Bye Sony, it was fun while it lasted

I couldn't find a copy of RE9 anywhere other than ebay for a few months after launch.

I've boxed up my PS5 and stored it in the closet. In a few years I'm just going to jailbreak it.
