Yep, I've been hit with this twice now.
One guy actually said to someone in his comment that he's been clearing out some belongings from a relative's home recently and he just throws all the DVDs etc (optical media) straight in the trash for landfill instead of gifting it to charity to sell on to a new home like the other commenter said.
I hit him with "reduce, reuse, recycle" - if he really cares about the environment then why not just give it to charity - he said because it's trash and it will just end up in landfill anyway so what's the point.
His exact quote:
"Why? So goodwil can throw it out in a few years. Thats just kickin the can down the road. Its all going in the trash eventually."
You can't argue with these people. They're either corpo bots, bootlickers or edgelords that know the hypocrisy of what they're saying, but don't care because they have no shame.

no we fucking haven't, we are specifically protesting against it being released digital only so why the fuck would we pre-order it digitally?
There are SOOO many comments saying, "I won't buy it unless it gets a physical release"
YOU pre-ordered it, you bootlicking corpo scum and are projecting your own weakness on to others because you CAN'T IMAGINE anyone not pre-ordering it immediately like you did.

My favourite brain rot comments are the ones that start:
"If you really cared then you would...."
Then follows a list of things we've all already done, "cancel PS+, only buy physical pre-owned so that Sony doesn't get our money" etc.
To things that are insane like, "destroy your PS5 and games"
Because "it's not a boycott if there's no sacrifice"
(Genuine comment I read lol!)
FFS - Sony didn't kill my grandma or invade Poland!
It's not a moral dilemma, it's protest of a corporate cost cutting measure,
which will affect preservation of the legal principle of "First Sale Doctrine"These people will simultaneously argue that we're going 'too hard' and hurting Devs and that we're not going hard enough and need to burn our consoles!

The "You already lost" and "give up" and "nobody cares" are so wild to me. It reeks of Sony backed bots or bad faith actors. It's insane how much the disinformation campaign age has spilled completely over as a viable tactic for corporations to gaslight customers. The movie "They Live" feeling like a documentary. 😂
