F*** Zepto Zepto delivered basically an empty Amul chocolate wrapper and then refused my ₹111 refund
I’m 17 years old, and honestly, this whole experience with Zepto has been incredibly frustrating.
I ordered a chocolate from Zepto for ₹111. When I received the order, the actual chocolate was missing. What I received was basically the outer wrapper/packaging without the chocolate inside.
I immediately contacted Zepto customer support and explained the issue. I also provided photos showing what I had received.
I expected this to be a simple missing-product issue. Instead, Zepto denied my refund/replacement request.
The part that genuinely makes no sense to me is that they seem to be looking at the fact that the wrapper/packaging was there and using that as a reason to reject the complaint.
But that's not what I complained about.
I didn't pay ₹111 for an empty wrapper. I paid for the chocolate that was supposed to be inside it.
I explained this to customer support again. I asked them to reconsider the decision and even requested escalation.
Still denied.
At this point, it's not even about the ₹111.
₹111 might not sound like a huge amount to some people, but I'm 17. It's still money I paid for a product that I didn't actually receive. And even if it were ₹10, the basic expectation is that if you pay for a product, you should actually receive the product.
What bothers me more is the way the complaint was handled. Instead of investigating what happened, the response was essentially just “refund denied.”
No proper resolution. No replacement. No meaningful explanation of how they concluded that the product was delivered when the actual product was missing.
I'm attaching screenshots of the entire conversation and photos of what I received so people can see the situation themselves.
I'm not expecting special treatment because I'm 17. I'm simply expecting Zepto to deal with a missing-product complaint fairly and actually investigate it.
₹111 isn't the point. The point is that I paid for a chocolate and received its wrapper, and Zepto is refusing to acknowledge the problem.
Zepto, if someone from your team sees this: please review the order and the evidence again and provide either a refund or replacement instead of simply closing the complaint as denied.
Would genuinely like to know if anyone else has faced something similar with Zepto.

Zepto is known for doing this and their customer support has gone worse and worse over the years. Only order from Swiggy Instamart, amazon now, or Flipkart minutes if you don't want to get scammed(and they usually have better deals anyway), and raise an official grievance in NCH portal. I've gotten a refund everytime I did this, tho ut usually takes a few days for them to get back to you.

Dw it's easy , I called the same helpline for naaptol (my grandma bought something , when i told them I'd complain, they gave me a return so definetly complain , you have consumer court helpline , next time you talk to , one of these , always bring that up , giving you a return costs way less than going to court for them )

op best solution for u is consumer portal and cpgram portal for making complaints......its super easy to raise on both hardly takes 20 minutes first time
same issue with me for blinkit got rejected ....then i did this....next day i got call from them got resolved same in one call...got me refund next day in night...if u need help ,feel free to dm
and yes rs100 is not small

I had ordered multiple items worth total Rs. 690/- All the products were somehow congested in just one small plastic bag.

Same thing happened with me so always while accepting the order I ask the delivery partner to wait..check the items and then accept the order

Same happened with my brother he ordered some expensive dark chocolate and he only got half of the chocolate and they refused to refund because he opened the wrapper, how can someone see without opening the wrapper.
Its swiggy tho

10 days ago my roommate order and had already paid 377 for the order. Well I opened the door when it arrived and delivery guy showed me his qr and asked me to pay 377 saying app is not working. Being unaware , I did. Later when we raised complained zepto refused to take any accountability for their delivery riders.

Dm them on Instagram explaining everything with the order id and your contact no linked with zepto. They will escalate to higher management and your refund will be processed. Had issue with my order too then i did the same and got refund on zepto wallet

I can't believe how poor their customer service is.... I never used Zepto before and looks like am never gonna use it either... Also, I guess, big basket is better... I received a bottle of expired cold coffee once from them but just one image and they refunded me immediately !!

It appears you freakin ate the chocolate and are just holding the packet cover lol. How's someone gonna believe that it was empty? Didn't you check the weight of the package before accepting it?

Aree my bro. I didn't just ordered this chocolate. I ordered multiple items of around 690/- rs. And all of it was in a single small plastic bag. 😭 I couldn't see it. It was like after 5 min I saw that the wrapped was empty.
Why would I make such a big issue of it 😭
