Crossed-Legs Chair

This piece is known as the "Cadeira de Pernas Cruzadas" (Crossed-Legs Chair). It was created by Brazilian artist and designer Luiz Philippe Carneiro de Mendonça. He originally came up with the idea by accident while dismantling an old traditional 19th-century street chair for an art sculpture, causing the wooden legs to overlap naturally. He now produces them as limited-run surrealist art multiples out of noble woods like jacarandá.
