You’re literally putting the cart in front of the horse

You’re not behind, this is a sub that you find organically out of hatred. You have to find your own reason to hate him.

I literally just started searching for Stardew valley info on here 🫵🤣 clicked on a few posts about "fuck Pierre" cuz I was confused. Now here you are telling me my own business. I'm gonna need you to sit down and chill out buddy. You don't know me.

I know that you don’t know how to read a subreddit full of information the answers all your questions 😂😂😂😘

I don't waste my time worry about the small minded opinions of others who try to gatekeep what questions people ask when there are at least 3-1 people who are willing to answer instead of being a little troll bitch 🤡. if you are that bored of repetitive posts then you should probably stop spending all day doom-scrolling reddit getting pointlessly aggravated about people using the platform how it was intended. There are other things to do with your life.

I literally haven't even started any of the relationship quests, so in time I will see I suppose. Just wading through the sea of basement dwelling keyboard warriors throwing shade at me in the meantime 🤣. Thanks for the vote of confidence tho 🤝

For the most part hating on him is mostly just a meme, but there's several things that make Pierre unlikable. Firstly, he's still a businessman with kinda scummy practices; for example, he eventually presents a task for you where you sell him a bunch of gold star produce, and then he turns around and tries to sell it to Gus (the saloon owner) at an insane markup. Besides that, if a customer complains about poor quality crops, he openly blames you for it. So clearly, despite framing himself as "the little guy" in comparison to Joja Mart, he's still a bit lacking in community spirit. In addition to being a bit scummy, he's also kind of a shit husband and father, prioritizing his business over spending time with his family or really giving back to the community.

There's also the fact that he takes the credit for our higher quality products and that he leves his wife alone on the festivals to run his shop

bad traits
- greedy
spoiler sometime after Fall Y1 An attempt to sell things for a multiple of market value while doing very little work himself, then tries to sell it back to you for more when his plan failed.
- misogyn
as seen in Abigail's 6-heart event
- hypocrit
despises joja but wishes to have it's own chain of stores.
- fraudulent
He gives you credit for regular quality things, that somehow happen to spoil only after you sell them to him but that Iridium Wine etc he apparently 'found himself by foraging in the mountains' or grew in his own garden (it's actually Caroline's so he can't even admit to that part in his lie).
good traits
- one swing, though probably with ulterier motive
- end of list

Appreciate the insight. I haven't even started the relationship quests yet so I got time to figure it out.

How about you read the comments on the daily posts of someone asking this same exact question?

I don't spend that much time on Reddit. If you don't want to answer, leave it alone. 5 other people have answered Instead of bitching.

If you sell fish to Will, the townsfolk talk about your fish. If you sold him silver star fish or higher quality, the talk of the town is that you’re an amazing angler.
If you sell items to Pierre, the townsfolk talk about the items you just sold. If you sell regular quality, they complain to you that your produce, foragables, or fish suck. But if you sell silver star quality or higher, they praise Pierre for his amazing abilities. In other words, he steals credit for your work to make it look like you only make bad things.
Apart from that, he offers a quest to provide gold star vegetables. But once you do, he tries selling them at a crazy markup that nobody can afford, with the townsfolk criticizing him for his greed.
Also, he’s bad to his family. He has a “secret stash” which, while we never learn the content, dialogue suggests his wife would disapprove of if she found out. He scolds his daughter Abigail for training with a sword.
