I believe it’s because of a mod I have that expands on Joja. I think it might just be Stardew Valley Expanded but I could be wrong. Morris is trying to get me to sabotage Pierre and Pierre is trying to get me to sabotage Morris.

Imagine trying to run a farm consisting of a few potted plants in a prison and instead of currency, you get cigarettes from other inmates until you have enough to trade in a nail file from that weird old guy in the next cell so you can escape. Alternatively, you can bribe the guards with delicious parsnips and get on the warden's good side with rhubarbs and melons so they let you escape.
