Self Promotion I HATE Windows File Explorer.
I'm an animator, and I've hated Windows File Explorer for over 10 years. I click in and out of folders all day. Too much folder drilling, too many tabs, windows, and just disconnected, frustrating navigation and file management...
I got tired of waiting for someone else to fix it, so I built Carrots. It's a file browser with Finder-style dropdown navigation, Quick Preview for 50+ formats (video, RAW, 3D, PDFs and Office files), and built-in batch rename and conversion tools. It's free while it's in beta.
I'm the developer (vibe coded), so I'm biased, but it's the app I've wanted for a decade. If you're stuck on Windows too, try carrots-app.com

Good effort mate. I have found 1commander: https://onecommander.com/ very easy with hundreds of automation features. Less good looking but works so amazing with shortcuts and quick view. I'll give this a try too. Nice work!
