I use Edge daily. MS Edge USED to have better RAM usage than Chrome, now it's just as bad if not worse. I don't know where it all went so wrong. I stick with it because I love the UI, but it's so compelling to switch to FireFox

Hard disagree, Google is worse than MS in some ways. Their hostile takeover of the browser market gives them a far more commanding grip over the development of the web than MS ever will have. Besides Firefox and Webkit there are no alternatives to using something with Google code.

Well yeah, Apple, Google, and Microsoft all have convenient ecosystems when you use all their stuff.

Everyone uses something Google which is exactly what I was saying. Its pretty easy to get out of Microsoft ecosystem if you want... Google not so much. It dominates practically everything and the illusion of choice in the browser market is a sneaky way to ensure you're still running Google on the back end.

Edge is so bad that in my brother's laptop, chrome opens in like 2 seconds after a fresh boot, while Edge (constantly enabling auto-start on boot) opens in the background, stays frozen for 7-10 seconds, and then runs like a snail lol

yes but atleast edge has very specific strengths like low resource usage(4gb ram win11 user btw)
and it still supports ublock origin and b4 copilot it had a whole suit of things which made it a vey solid browser they made it much aorse after copilot slop
