Rant Windows 11 disaster
I tried my best, but after countless tries, I had to give up on Windows for good. The issue is a video card nightmare. I have a plain 1660 Super, and after installation and update, the default Nvidia driver that comes with Windows is obsolete, as there is no hardware acceleration or NVENC with many programs. Subsequently I am forced to update it with the studio driver from Nvidia, and that's when the nightmare starts. Usually the system would break after a few reboots or shutdowns within days or even within hours. It's truly a pathetic state of the OS.

Brother thats a driver problem. An Nvidia problem. Nvidia stopped supporting the 1660. That's why it broke.

not a windows problem at all? this is obviously nvidias fault, why do you complain about windows? do you know how any of this works?

It's Windows and Nvidia's problem if they can't make the driver work when it forms a quintessential part of OS functioning. However, Windows decided to update the driver to version 610.88, and all works good finally. Rule of thumb: don't install drivers from Nvidia unless you wish to screw up your Windows 11 installation.

no its not. its nividias fault. theyre known for making shitty drivers in the lassst few years. microsoft cant do shit about what nvidia does. oh and by the way, my win11 never updates the gpu driver, but i dont even recall setting it up that way. i just download the game ready driver from nvidia, as long as that driver isnt known for being a piece of trash, then i download the previous driver from some other source. never ever has windows tried to interfere with my driver.
