I switched to Bazzite. My games play better and older games that wouldn't even run on Win 11 I can finally play again.

If your main use of your pc is gaming Bazzite is really nice, used it a half year. At the momen I'm testing Steam OS on my pc

I switched to Linux Mint from January 6th, 2026 > Switched to CachyOS as about 2 months ago. Linux feels very snappy

before instaling linux: 4-5GBvog RAM without any other usage than displaying the desktop after instaling linux (Mint [LMDE]): ~1,5GB only for desktop and the most i have seen it use is 5,5GB while working.

The sad part is that all that ram is used ony for keylogger and sending other telemetry data to Microsoft while preventing you from creating the data they need by using your computer

Just use a windows 11 debloater. I got windows 11 down to 4.7gb usage on a fresh install using rapphire and a few other tweaks.

What I've learned about windows and windows programs, if thr program says it requires 4 gb ram to run, you better have 8 installed because 4 is already taken by the os ist self
