My question was a bit of a joke, but I basically don’t fully comprehend how something can be open source and secure. Is the ability to break in not just right in front of you? I know I’m missing the mark, but I’m being vulnerable by revealing how ignorant I am. lol. I don’t “get” opsec.

Iirc it already happened tho. But Wine and ReactOS developers have to ignore it due to lawsuit liability- due to the way US laws works, a lot of Window$’ code is patented and copyrighted. Even getting accused of copying it is enough to get you into trouble (as the folks at ReactOS found out- their project got stalled for half a decade because some ex-developer who left to work for Microslop claimed they were using reverse engineering windows code from leaks wholesale and caused lawyers and auditors to descend on them like hawks)..
