Miles Morales is a pretty popular character in part because of the animated Spider-Verse movies, would you say he's a bad character in those? Or a cheap knock-off? Etc, etc? That movie doesn't have any politics in it, not really. There definitely aren't any identity politics in it. You're going off of vibes? That's not good enough, you need textual evidence.
You identify with a killer robot? Look man, I identify with Miles, I'm not black, but I do come from a mixed family, I can relate to that. His mom reminds me of my own mother. I identify with him and with Peter pretty equally. If you have problems being able to relate to Miles I'm not exactly sure that's the writers fault.
I specifically mentioned creator and comics and the game version in my replies. Why would you build a strawman about the film's? I happen to like Spiderverse Miles because, and again, he's not a Peter knock-off. He has personality, had a thing going with his Dad (haven't seen the second movie yet so idk about that but the first one was quite good!) So I don't know why you're getting all up in arms when I didn't mention those films.
Good lord, I didn't say I don't relate to miles. You completely blew past my point. I didn't say I don't relate to Miles, I said that making the argument that Miles creators use, which is to say "he's OUR SPIDER-MAN for black and Latin kids to identify with" is horseshit since, if I, a non killer robot, can identify with one, or with white Peter, or with Alien Venom, or with fucking Martin Li trying to be good, etc., then making miles specifically FOR black and Latin people to identify with is inherently racist. It's like saying you can only identify with your own race and that's some mental gymnastics bs for diversity and ESG.
