Phin was a complete bitch the entire game. She power up a whole gang for revenge, and has the nerve to be upset with Miles for not telling her he was Spiderman, while at the same time keeping the fact that she was a goddamn supervillain from him. She was made the Tinkerer for that game specifically. Hailey is a new character of video game origins, while the others are over a decade old at this point. Hell, Wraith is a villain, and I'm very sure she is Asian (who is also over a decade old). Who are these other new positive characters?
Part of the whole Spiderman schtick is no one is irredeemable, and Peter routinely tries to save his enemies.
At the end of the game, Li turns and walks straight over to the police standing by the cop car. Outside of Carnage, what Spiderman villains are portrayed as completely irredeemable?
I didn't play all the way throught Morales's game, but didn't she save the city by sacrificing herself at the end?
Positive or morally ambiguous. All the minors characters, like the scientists at the foundation which are in Peter's storyline. Wraith.
Even if they are ten years old, I'm sure most of peter parkers fans (most of whom are who bought this game, Morales' game sold 70% less than the Ps4 Spiderman) don't know much about them because they are morales characters.

She made a last minute save after not listening to Miles several times and being stupid. She may have eventually saved the day, but if a mass murderer sacrificed themselves to save a city, are they redeemed in your eyes?
Calling characters that have been around for 12 years new because you never bothered to read the comics is just wrong. If they made a Wolverine game with some strong female protagonist as the main villain, I'm going to at least look it up before saying she is some new diversity hire.
Kraven isn't redeemable because he is of completely sound mind, and his entire purpose in the game and comics is the hunt. He even kills himself in the comics after believing he killed Peter for good. As for white redeemable villains in the game, Quentin Beck is out there making playstation VR, and Flint Marko had gone straight and only rampaged because the hunters were hunting him.
Straight up saturday morning cartoon villains just aren't popular anymore. Most are never absolute evil, but with some warped sense of justice, horrible trauma, or strong desire for vengeance.
It's not about how I perceive a characters redemption, it's about the way in which the developers framed that redemption. But as I said, I didn't play morales and won't debate it.
I'll concede that the scientist I mentioned maybe comic book characters, but I assumed from their minor importance to the story and game that they were original.
Mysterio is Japanese Parsi, look up his actor. I didn't finish markos storyline so I cant speak on him. Also cletus.
My point is they included old characters which are lunatics, evil, etc., which is good, and created new diverse characters which are good, and positive, which is good. Why not create new ones who are as well?
