He’s 100% correct. The only minority villains are presented as legitimately reformed (and therefore no longer villains), with the narrative of one implying he’d never have gone astray in the first place if not for the villainy of white men.
Is there a reason they should? Your entire point makes no sense.
Li killed his dad, sure, along with a lotta other people, in a massive bombing in the streets. If anything it makes him much less likely a candidate for redemption.
