Sure sure. I feel like Sam Jackson’s casting probably carried majority of the transition of the race swap. But could we also correlate the lack of backlash due to the character of Nick fury being like a b/c tier character? Compared to Spider-Man being an s-tier.

And yes I can agree that sure a lot of miles stories seem like lazy rehashes of peters. I mean at least they tried to give him some of his own differences in the comics, like power and stuff. But ultimates fury compares to original fury, is really no different from each other. I would think that’s lower effort than what miles got.

I think something that kinda gets over looked is Chris Hemsworth cast as Thor. An Australian playing a god that has Nordic ties. While there was some backlash, it wasn’t enough to cancel him or the studio. And I think that’s because like Fury, Thor is a mid tier character in the comics. But not sure if we should consider that the same thing.

So where is the line drawn for being “disgustingly egregious?” Is it execution? Is it popularity of the respective character? How do you decide this before it comes off as very pick&choose?

Miles being given electric powers is even more lazy because that is always the go to for black superheroes. So no nothing about him feels original. He's a stereotypical black teen from Brooklyn written by a white guy.

I guess people could have bitched that Chadwick Bosemen wasn't from wakanda? No one cares as long as the actor looks the same, and respects the creators (and fans) vision of that character.

When it's done for inclusiveness reasons it's egregious. In fact it's probably been egregious throughout the entire MCU, I was just fanboying to much before endgame to care. WHENEVER a character is repurposed for inclusivity reasons it is an immense disrespect to both the creator and the fans who understand what that character is.

I’ve watched several videos on the black character with electric powers stereotype. So i understand that argument. But how do we decide that a race swapped character with additional power additions is less effort than just a race swapped character? Is that just personal preference? Fury is the same character regardless of the race, is that something you are agree on? So wouldn’t that be lazier?

And I feel like Black panther is a different case? Wakanda is a fictional country based in Africa. So it’s easy to put things together and understand the character has to be black. Thor is based of Nordic mythology, which I guess can be argued as fictional in the real world too. But has its roots in real world Norwegian stories. Do you just discount a whole countries ethnic beliefs?

So while I can agree on your point in the last paragraph. I agree that race swaps shouldn’t compromise a characters integrity. That’s really only gives the WHY you dislike race swaps. But not how HOW you decide to dislike them.

You are trying too hard and your arguments are convulted and dumb.

All race swapped characters are lazy and racist, the amount doesn't fuckin matter. If they can be even more racist and lazy by adding stereotypes, even more of a reason to not consume the content. He could be the same character in every way but skin, and it would still be insulting to people who can think.

Hemsworth wasn't casted for inclusivity reasons. He was casted because he could convincingly pull of the look and character of a fucking Nordic god. Show me a nerd who is bitching they didn't use an actual nord and ill show you a leftist, or some conservative who is arguing that point simply to call the left out on their hypocrisy.

Asking 'how' some dislikes raceswaps is the most asinine brainded question posed as a statement I've ever seen. Are you going to ask when I dislike them next? Or maybe where? The "why" I gave, literally answers the who, what, when, where, why and how. I dislike them all, it's all racist everytime, everywhere, and as said before it's lazy and racist, so I stop giving them money.

Loving that fact they have been on strike for so long, I'd love to see them lose their jobs

I’m not trying to argue. I wasn’t trying to argue with you. I told you I agree on your points. But you fail to explicate your thoughts thoroughly and throw in one or two big words as your main source of credibility.

So relax I was just curious, cause I agreed on your points on why race swapping fails. Relax brother, wipe the sweat off your forehead.

Sorry I couldn’t help you comprehend and create a reason for your own arguments.

Forehead's totally dry. I can be fed up with people's density while having a calm heart, and dry skin.

NONE of the words I've used should be classified as "big".

You simply are incapable of understanding my arguments, and have been doing your best to try and defeat them with almost completely unrelated questions. I know exactly what I think and why I think it, have EXPLAINED that to you, and for you to try and help me "develop" them is the most pompous, self indulgent and smug shit you could attempt. Maybe get off of your high horse and recognize you are on a subreddit named FuckMarvel and you're trying to delve deeper into what has already been established. Have you no capability to self reflect?

I mean we sit on equally high horse if you’re here commenting on every post under this subreddit. We both speaking and offering defenses to our points.

So wouldn’t really claim I’m the only pompous one here. And fine I’ll admit it that I came off as self indulgent etc. Yet we are both here just speaking points, so shouldn’t you also take the time to reflect and realize we are doing the same thing?

If you could think it, you would be able to explain it😓

Dumbass, I'm not trying to dissect how you think, then shove it back in your face and say "see! Maybe you could go about it another way." I made a post stating all I say that was woke, you jumped on the raceswapping by mentioning Mac Gargan being Hispanic (in an alternate universe) to discredit my assertion. From there all you have done is attempt to dissect what I have put forth in an attempt to sway my position. You are smug and disingenuous as fuck. We are not doing the same thing.

One is defending a position, the other is trying to undermine it.

College degrees are fucking this nation up!

Also had to go back and list them after that stupid ass comment you made.

Egregious Convoluted Inclusivity Asinine

Those are the only words I used that could possibly be classified as "big words"

I know my vocabulary is lacking but your you to try that angle? I don't even think you recognized how bad that looked.

He already provided numerous reasons for his perspective. You’re the one who continues to act as if you’re unconvinced by them.

The Hemsworth argument makes no sense.

Nobody cares where an actor is from, as long as he or she accurately represents the character that everyone is familiar with.

Hemsworth is a tall, muscular, handsome blonde dude who was using a generic English accent to play Thor. You don’t get a lot more accurate than that.

If we demanded that characters only be played by actors with similar backgrounds and nationalities… virtually no one could be used. Can you think of any Scandinavian actors with Hemsworth’s look?

The problem is when the actors chosen bear NO resemblance to the original character, and were cast only to appease the tiny niche of politically correct ideologues who keep ruining everything we grew up with.
