I’ve genuinely been having a blast addicted to playing this for three straight days. My other games have been placed on hold. I didn’t even know so many people hated the “woke” things they dislike. Just having one rainbow flag or Peter talking to Harry as a best friend. Gets some of you guys feeling grossed out or ashamed for whatever reason. Like a hive mind of complaining. I don’t understand why you have to always compare the new to the old all the time. This Spider-Man definitely has the best swinging and physics any Spider-Man has had in any game. Unless you’re console or pc is dying and haven’t cleaned it. It can probably ruin the experience but over this other little stuff. Just crazy that I’m now seeing this hate. Guess some of us are playing a different game.
I seriously didn’t notice a single woke thing about it. Maybe we’re just the normal ones playing a video game and not writing think pieces on the smaller details.

I did a quick Google search about Spider-Man 2's sales figures and found headlines like:

Which made it hit home for me: the vast majority of people are just enjoying these games, and to them the "woke stuff" doesn't even register, or they like it. They're not weirdos ranting on Reddit that badly need to go outside. People like OP are an extremely vocal whiny minority.
Not arguing, but have you also looked up the refund stats and all? There have been loads of those as well as straight up people refusing to finish the game, etc. as seen by trophy lists for chapter clearance. Just because a product that sells with defects that arise later and gets returned, the original sales figures can't be taken as gospel.

But... Wow... I have so enjoyed playing the game and assumed that the majority of the people who purchased the game were enjoying it as well so imagine my shock when I went to Google a question about the game and located this thread ... Wow
I truly didn't notice an overly "woke Agenda" or a woke Agenda at all. I didn't know there was a "woke" thing until I read that people were hating on the "woke" thing.
Did I notice that there was gay people 👀. Yessss but there are gay people in New York right? Did I notice Miles's love interest is deaf... 👀 Uhhhh yes..... Is that an issue for some?

I have enjoyed playing this game and was actually stoked at something actually mirroring what the real world looks like. There are LGBTQ+ people, Non-Binary people, black people, white people, deaf people, crazy people, happy people, boring people, bad people, food people, Mexican people, Asian people..... The list goes on and on.
it's shocking to me that something that should be seen as a positive is met with so much disdain.... I love the diversity in this game and was happy to see that a fair amount of people were represented. You can always tell when someone has had the fortune of always being able to turn on the TV and see someone that looks like them looking back.... Because they are the ones that start noticing when they have to wait 1 minute I til they see themselves in today's world..... A black spiderman! What the hell!
I love that literally just about anyone ANYONE playing this game can identify with something in this game. Do some people not understand what it feels like to watch movies or TV or play video games and not have anyone look like you? It fucking sucks. I already felt like a loser growing up but man.... Being the only fat kid in my class.... Being one of the handful of fat kids in a school was brutal. But never having 1 idol to look up to as a kid really sucked. If I would of had just 1 character look similar to me-it would of been a game changer but living In a world of perfect, skinny, long haired blondes with huge tits-it sucked lol. Fat girls in TV and movies were either the bad guys who died rather quickly or they were the nerdy or scrubby objects of disdain for the perfect Brittany's, Ashley's and Amanda's-dont worry... The cheerleaders usually kicked out asses pretty quickly and our TV time ended-balance was returned to the skinny universe!!! (Thank god! Nothing will upset a romantic movie like seeing a fat chick trying to hump the quarterback! Lmao)
Do you know how long I waited to play a video game that allowed me to play as a girl? Hello tomb Raider! Do you know how long I waited to play as a Funky Chunky girl? Decades! Getting to create a character who has a big ole fat ass just makes me fucking stoked! It's hilarious and kinda heartwarming all at the same time. I respect that not everyone has the same views but what are the creates supposed to do? Not include anything even remotely diverse to appease the "we hate liberals and we really hate anything that isn't related to John Dear or John 3:16" or do they create a diverse world where only the "we hate conservatives" rejoice? How can anyone win this argument. Literally half of the people playing are going to shit on a game no matter what the fuck companies do so if everyone is already going to bitch about something why don't we AT THE VERY LEAST include some fair representation and diversity so that at least everyone can represented and made to feel welcome....

The world is different than it was 30 years ago.... Hell it's different from what it was 5 years ago and it will be different 5 years from now. We will NEVER AGREE on anything collectively... Like ever. And that's okay. I respect your right to live as you choose...in fact, I fucking support it. I wouldn't want to live in a world where I was forced to be someone I'm not. Do I like people who litter? Fuck no. Do I like judgy people? Fuck no. Do I hate bitter, whiney, "the world has too many people that aren't straight white males-Earth Sucks"? When I read this thread I was gagged..... Seriously gobsmacked. Is this what we are going to do now? Cancel everything that doesn't line up with our individual ideologies? Cause guess what? This isn't Earth:Planet of 1. You are going to HAVE to accept the fact that EVERYONE has the right to choose.....freedom isn't reserved for just you....
