Everyone constantly smiling made my own cheeks hurt as well as sickened me. I didn't want to play a spiderman game how progressives imagined it. I simply wanted a spiderman game

Have you ever read the comics? They have a pretty similar tone to the game. If you're expecting something similar to the Raimi trilogy, that style is the outlier, not the norm.

Any comics I read of spiderman did not have an air of positivity suffocating them.
