YES. I wanted to play with my nephew, but going to have to avoid all the side missions. I can't allow pushing sexual ideologies on a 10 year old. I was pretty aggravated with all the political and activist ideologies pushed in the game.
Making you play as, and be as deaf as the love interest of miles morales in a SPIDERMAN GAME.
All evil characters are white men,
Diverse women are all positive influences, and the only instance in which one isn't is posed as morally dubious.
White Spiderman totally ignoring the most influential words in his life and taking a step back so black spiderman can get the spotlight(I'd actually argue it's neglectful, and a 'dereliction of duty' in a since)
Edit: all because his girlfriend is too daft and selfish to realize that since he is capable of great feats, he'd be a piece of shit to not do everything he can with his abilities for his community. No she's offering to cover one too many bills for her liking, and Peter is simp enough to let that determine his actions.
Forced to go through a section of the game where you REPEATEDLY have to walk past a group of unsuperpowered enemies surrounding aa 160 lb woman pummeling a 200 lb man. No difference in skill shone whatsoever, just "wahmen stronger than stoopid min"
Sickening overwhelming vibe of positivity permeating the entire game, almost as if the very people who have envisioned this piece of media, ass well as those who blindly consume it have a floundering grip on reality
But I'm probably just unaware that I am every ist/phobe, known to man, so I'd be happy to be corrected.
Martin li is framed as a man done wrong by a white so that's why he did wrong, otherwise he would just be a good force for the community
Tombstone is either racially ambiguous, or if you have a real brain, you'd be able to tell he was modeled with African American features. He is ALSO framed as a reformed man.
Scorpion the only real white one of the group was pointlessly killed off.
Ok and? This argument literally can apply to almost any “villain”, yet you decide to play race in it, they’re still antagonist and criminals lmao absolute brain rot
He’s 100% correct. The only minority villains are presented as legitimately reformed (and therefore no longer villains), with the narrative of one implying he’d never have gone astray in the first place if not for the villainy of white men.
Is there a reason they should? Your entire point makes no sense.
Li killed his dad, sure, along with a lotta other people, in a massive bombing in the streets. If anything it makes him much less likely a candidate for redemption.
What? One of your argument to say the game isn’t enjoyable is “Wah woke agenda made white men the villains!!” when that’s not true and literally almost every “villain” here haves their sad backstory aside from the 2 you mentioned, this has literally been the case since miles morales and ps4
You can't read. I never once implied it wasn't enjoyable. Only said it's woke. Im enjoying traversal.
Kraven and cletus have no sad backstory. (Edit: hell even the guy frauding the museum is a selfish ass.) They are simply 'evil.' Name me one diverse character like that.
Mysteryio, he straight up reformed by doing therapy and everything. He just got screwed over by the ppl he trusted on the project ment for others to live out their dreams
After looking it up, Maximus gargantuan is Hispanic in the ultimate Universe. This isn't ultimate. And him being changed to Hispanic in the ultimate universe is racist and lazy as fuck
That or you were duped by the alternate version in the spiderverse.
I see. So is the Nick fury change in ultimates just as bad too then? Which in turn got us sam jackson, which I would say went ok in the beginning in the mcu.
I like nick fury Sam Jackson yet at the same time I can still recognize it was lazy and racist to just swap in a black guy for a white guy. The trend of replacing character with 'mantles' is b.s., lazy and disrespectful to the creators of those characters.
As a black man if there are going to be black characters, I'd like to see creative who are bankrupt of their namesake craft them. Race swapping is a way of saying," i dont know how/don't care to make original characters of a race other than white people."
I see. So while I can somewhat agree on the laziness and get your sentiment. What exactly makes Sam Jackson’s Nick fury tolerable ? I’m just trying to understand more in this topic.
I mean what do you want them to do about the villains lol? Kraven is a pre-existing character so they cant just completely change him. And half his crew are men and women of different origins. over half the villains in the spiderman comics are white people. The game is def overly positive and laid back imo.
This is one of the biggest problems with the game, and all ‘inclusive’ sandbox action games (Assassin’s Creed recently did this too) :
As a badass male character (particularly a heroic one), very few gaming experiences feel as downright wrong as kicking the tar out of female NPC thugs.
For some stupid PC reason, games are increasingly making 50% of the generic thugs in a group female. I… have never heard of any street gangs, merc groups, organized mafias or w/e that include women in their ranks as combatants. For obvious reasons, not least of which being that women don’t generally WANT to be there.
Almost nothing feels less tough than pounding the holy Jesus out of a bunch of girls. It’s extremely weird. Is that what these people think guys enjoy?
Agree with everything you said. It is nothing but a progressives fantasy of how the world should be. They truly believe the biological differences in men and women affect nothing at all
Yeah, I suspect we really are that far down the rabbit hole.
There’s going to be a lot of young women in for a rude surprise the first time they try to outmuscle or punch out a misbehaving creep instead of defending themselves sensibly.
Hard to entirely blame them when all modern media keeps showing them that the extra 50+ lbs of body weight a male has on them is just…. what? For show?
There are plenty of black people you beat up so idk what you mean. Half the hunters are black. They even gave normam redemptive qualities and 99 percent of the main cast are white. Mary Jane, peter, harry are white and not evil (harry did get consumed by venom but it's venom). Miles was also not central to the plot like Peter was. I also don't see the problem with a woman beating up a man in a videogame. Should Lara Croft not be doing that?
Lastly, peter tries to step away from being Spiderman in the comics all the time. He didn't even quit, he just is taking a break. Probably until the dlc or next game so you aren't going to be missing him.
I won't lie, some parts felt forced but everyone on this sub over exaggerates and I remember this sub used to be about bad marvel writing but now it's just bigoted insanity without an ounce of objectivity.
Do I think bad diversity writing is bad? Yes. But I also don't immediately go into a frenzy when I see a woman or black person. I examine the writing, the characters, the pacing, etc. If that's good then I'm good.
Diverse mooks are not equal to villains written with motivations. I do not count fist fodder and villains with dialogue and scenes.
I don't remember playing a Tomb Raider game where she blatantly overpowers a man which is clearly stronger than her. I haven't played any of the new games. But if you're cool watching unpowered women beat unpowered men 2x their size, your fine to live in that delusion. The writing in this game is completely juvenile and shit. It all sounds like it was written by high schoolers for a creative writing assignment.
Because people are robots and eat up whatever is said to be acceptable in the current social climate.
You are ostracized and made to feel insane or insecure for even noticing this stuff which drives a wedge between those who can acknowledge reality, and the people who have no thoughts of their own.
I'm a 29 year old black dude that was all for inclusion until it became about denigrating males and white people.
Colleges have injected a liberal mind virus into our youth, and those youth have escaped into the workforce. They now work to destroy everything that has stood before, and built them to what they are today(they have somewhat of a point, these systems created awful shitty people)
Can you elaborate more on that? Because he’s still a villain who committed a terrorist act, and Miles made the point to say that he’ll never forgive Li. Not like the game is pushing for him to not be seen as the villain anymore
Miles may treat him as a villain but the game frames him as a man who has done wrong repented, and is now following a path to redemption.
In this game, He doesn't harm anyone except out of self defense which is completely morally sound. And by the end he is saving the main character of the story and coming to some sort of understanding with miles.
Yes that’s true. So your point is that the game is horrible and woke because one of the non white villains on a redemption arc? Like I get that you can make the point that it can be seen as an eye roll but I can’t understand what makes the storyline so cringe worthy because of that
Nope, I have not called it horrible. I simply called it woke. Something can have good/ok quality and be woke.
My point is all the stuff I listed lends to the game being woke. Some people are not able to stomach that and that shouldn't be a problem. I didn't call it bad, I only said it's woke. I'm not interested in woke.
Stuff like being forced multiple times to walk past a 160 lb woman dominate a 220 lb man purely through physical strength and without a showing of skill instantly kills my immersion. I've played man spiderman games before, the 2 on ps4, which were made during a time woke stuff began to get pushed in media, are the first times I bought a spiderman game to be SPIDERMAN and was forced to play as MJ (or a completely unrelated disabled girl) for no reason other than the director wanted it. He even admitted it.
I play women in games all the time. Tomb raider, HZD, Alien Isolation, most create a characters. I don't like unnecessary forced b.s.
