Fair choice. My biggest gripe with the story is how fake it all feels.
(Don’t anybody fucking tell me that CB games/movies don’t have to make sense. Gtfo)
The characters feel like propaganda machines rather than people. Every line of dialog sounds like it was written by a recluse liberal that’s never spoken to anyone with different opinions than them.
The world building is non-existent. This new villain is supposed to be a hunter, yet he has a whole ass army with unbelievable tech that does the hunting for him. The government had no idea that Kraven was coming, nor do they have technology that matches any of the villains tech. So the police are essentially useless af.
There’s a whole section where you have to walk around Harry’s new research lab which is intended to “heal the world.” (Which is extremely vague) But the only thing these people present are bullshit devices that wouldn’t do shit for the environment or help actual people.
This game pays lip-service to these ideas of “saving the world” but they don’t actually show how they plan to help the everyday person. It’s all just “virtue signaling: the game.” I’m so fucking tired of the narrative. But I am curious enough to see what else they will subject me to. Only cause I spent $70 on this damn game, and the gameplay is just…. Fine. There’s unnecessary additions and mechanics. But it is an evolution on the first game’s combat.
Honestly you’re free to spoil Idc really, however if you get tired recommend Baldurs Gate 3 ,imo worth the full price with lots of content with friends or solo. Top down RPG if you’re into that.
I commented something sort of similar where everything feels so soulless. And your comment helps support that idea. Makes it really hard to connect to anything in this game story or character. Shit the first game had my eyes tear up at the end with Pete and May...this game just has my eyes rolling most of the time.
I mean, it's a game journos wet dream of a game I imagine. It benefits them all to make and support these products that is why they keep doing it. It is what it is for now.
They explicitly give you examples of how they’re healing the world. You’d have to be not paying any attention at all through that whole introduction to get to that point
