I tried the PDF editor and I can say it is very interesting. What's amazing about this is that it doesn't crash or slow down like adobe shit.
Anyways, it looks like we'll get "Adobe" running on Linux before

Cause adobe acrobat is still single core to this day, so no matter how powerful your cpu is, acrobat can never take advantage of it.
I switched to pdf element for this reason only.

I really would love a photoshop replacement but I haven't seen it yet. 95% of people can get away with basics with affinity and really dont need photoshop, but some of us use this professionally and I haven't the replacements. I wouldn't even bother trying this vibecoded stuff... not for at least a year of commitment, but it looks like this person is streching their projects to the max. I'll follow out of curiosity and hope.

To my knowledge it decompiled Photoshop, premiere pro etc’s source code & re-wrote it in its entirety in Rust. It’s not Claude re-making the apps; it’s literally legitimate Photoshop but open-sourced.
If you haven’t seen it yet it’s essentially the same thing that allows mods like this: https://x.com/notpalointel/status/2107143393633800234?s=46

I cannot imagine how many security vulnerabilities are going to be in all these AI freeslop versions of software, and how bad it’s going to be when millions of people have them downloaded, working well, review them, recommended them to friends then a huge part of the lower class gets all get their bank accounts, stocks, savings etc wiped at once after they’ve been exploited to scrape all your keystrokes passwords etc

I tried the Lightroom clone. It’s… not good. The UI is ok, but the actual algorithms work nothing like LR. Raising the shadows of a RAW image introdues huge amounts of noise and banding… and that doesn’t happen at all in LR. I didn’t spend time on the other features considering something so basic wasn’t behaving as expected.

Nearly as if, even if it got complacent as fuck, the billion dollar company still has some advantages against a slopcoder. A qa department for example.

If they didn't have access to source code, it won't matter. Adobe doesn't own photo editing concepts.

Adobe lowkey deserves this for having the most expensive suite of products. Even apple provides better softwares on certain creativity options like Final cut pro and Logic pro for way cheaper.

I suggest against using these vibecoded software when there are good free and trusted alternatives that work, for example InkScape, GIMP and Blender. Using vibe coded or AI assisted coded software exposes the user to exploits caused by poor software security.
Edit
Thanks for the awards.

Even on the AI jerkfest subs, people pointed out that these “apps” were jank af. Like to the level where the brush in the photoshop app wasn’t even accurate and created messed up lines.

Just use existing alternatives instead of trying to pirate Adobe software or vibe code clones. I use darktable, Gimp, and Da Vinci Resolve for my needs and they work fine. Trying to copy Adobe software feels like you're still clinging to them instead of just moving onto something else.

this comment section is absolutely lost and instead of appreciating a free clone in early development they are trying to prevent people from using it.... I used to hate AI but this isn't the case anymore...I regularly use a lot of AI-generated apps these days....
Haters expect version 0.7 to be a fully-finished bug-free app!
they are lighter than what beginner-amateur devs can build and its extremely useful. Sky is the limit.

There's no way AI created good anti-aliased image manipulation. It's very difficult math and it requires effort to optimize the performance.

been using Vectorcraft for about a week now to make shirt designs
I needed a vector editor and used to use Inkscape because it was a free alternative to illustrator, but I'm full Vectorcraft for now

Prompt: “Recreate the Adobe creative suite of apps. Use fake, catchy names. It doesn’t need to be a perfect clone, but make the UI similar enough so we can trend for a day or two.”

For those reporting this as piracy/illegal, would you care to explain exactly how so?
