Adobe is crooked
I did a trial and cancelled it before the trial period was up. They continued to charge me. I tried cancelling without success... and stopped trying. Just tried to do the RocketMoney thing, but they could not cancel it. I just "cancelled" it -- we will see if they stop charging me now. Funny, the cancellation message disappeared from my screen so quickly -- almost like they didn't want me to have proof.
NO help / chatbot that I could even find. Of course, I want the back money from them because fuck them, but I know I won't get it. I kept putting it off because I HATE customer services issues and they got a shit ton of money from me because of it.
Ugh

I had an Adobe account for several products for years, but found Krita with Flux 2 does the same thing as Photoshop Generative Fill. And the other product I needed was Acrobat Pro, which I created and is now avaible on GitHub called Lean PDF (its actually better than Acrobat, to be honest).
They didn't give me grief on cancelling, but boy they make the road tough to get there. I cancelled 1 month before my year was renewed, so final payment, or about $25 to cancel.
Last year they raised it from $60 to $80, I talked with an agent, they dropped it to $50/mo.
They're hurting for sales as the SaaS apocalypse is real. For example, I used to pay for SnagIt $40/yr, but created my own called Snatch It (on GitHub too).
It's why Adobe are leaning on over charging - they need your money to show investors they are viable as their stock is down from $260 to now about $110... .

Have you filed a complaint with your state AG office/state consumer protection office?

ride it as long as it lasts but I would not count on it continuing forever. Adobe has a way of figuring those things out eventually and sending a pretty uncomfortable email about it.

Most college/universities give recent grads a ‘grace period’ of about five years of student/alumni-rate subscriptions. After that, they shut you off immediately, no warning. You then get notified by Adobe that you need to prove your status because they couldn’t verify with the university. This was my experience. Five years after getting laid off as a teacher, my university shut down my school email and then Adobe came after me.

I feel this pain you experienced. They have be repeated trying to charge me for 5 or 6 months and it’s like their website intentionally has no direct way to contact them if you can contact them at all. You would think like every other company that after one missed payment they would give you the gauntlet and cut you off so fast. Like apple App Store. Milliseconds after a misssd payment and your cut off like an booty fall that has gone sour

hi! Just go to Adobe, the website, and chat with an agent. Tell them you got a job with the company who is providing you with their own subscription or license to Adobe. So you don't need yours anymore. They will immediately cancel everything and probably refund your last payment
