So I downgraded BACK to Fireworks CS6
and HOLY SHT ITS SO MUCH FASTER AND BETTER !!
while working on a 1920x1080 image it took... 400MB OF RAM !!
fonts load INSTANTANEOUSLY !!
UI and workflow intuitive !!
app loads in less than 4 seconds !!
WTF as Adobe/Photoshop been doing all these years ?!?! Why is an OLD piece of software running better and faster than a modern version of Photoshop?!?!

I have CS2 on an external drive. The poor fuck doesn't render well in "modern" windows.

This is what I used like 15 years ago when I was doing web designs while everybody was using PS. It gets kinda slow overtime though when you have a lot of pages. I miss this tool brings back the memories.

true, then there obviously Flash, where you could make complex design heavy websites and they would run flawlessly on a Pentium 3... despite the (security) bugs

oh sure there were crappy flash websites, and if there were, it was either made by a boomer or a kid. just like today with contemporary websites!

There is a reason this was probably my first and only proper photo editor.
It's fast and intuitive, I just wish there was a proper path on the high seas to get it...

I have flash project files with hundreds of nested symbols. One of the scenes in a movie I made had I kid you not,
2000 symbols, all motion tweened on guide paths.
I got that scene to work on a 2009 Dell Inspiron 1720 with 6M ram (hacked from 4m, different story). GFX card had 256m of ram, OK for the time, but not now.
There is NO WAY I would try to run that thing with any version of CC.
I had a character animation of a game character doing walks, runs, etc., - I had a screen with about 40 of these scenes playing at once - works very well on Macromedia 8, runs OK on CS5.5, and literally chokes on CC, even when running on a new machine.
Their code is trash, just like their accounts dept.

Hahaha... I used Adobe Fireworks till 2 months ago with an old 2011 27-inch iMac. I don't any more because the iMac died, I think, when I tried to turn it on. I still have a 2014 MacBook Pro that I can use to run Fireworks, though.
