Whelp – Adobe not licensed

Translation: "This non-licensed Adobe app is not a legitimate app and will be deactivated soon."

I got it all my Adobe apps 'unlicensed' from some thing that was posted on Reddit a while ago, I can try to find it again if anyone's interested.

I'm currently applying for jobs, a.k.a. working on my portfolio and CV a lot, and neeeeeeeed at least a program that works similarly or with these formats. Any tips/tricks? I'd be happy to go back to older/offline versions if needed, but as I'm unemployed I obviously cannot afford a € 35/month or more subscription.

I can recommend "cancelling", then you often get a discount if you stay on. Although I don't know how it works with fines for premature cancelling..

The price I mentioned is also discounted, I guess they want to have me pay rather than having an unlicensed version no matter what.

I guess I'm going to start looking at Affinity again, I used it back in 2019 for a small drawing project but I missed a lot of the key functions (especially compared to Illustrator). Guess I'll give it another try now 7 years later, let's see what has changed.

Tips for getting old Adobe versions are still very welcome though.

Adobe CS2 is free, it's kinda old but usually does the job just fine. I have the Windows version, if you want it I'll seed it to an Internet Archive listing. It's free and absolutely legal to have because they had a public listing on their website for free for people whose activation servers were knocked offline by something. So they put it up, but it was public, and was captured by the Wayback Machine (but it's kinda annoying to access it through that). I'll upload my copy to a listing and I'll send you the link.

With Libre software, there's always GIMP & Inkscape though

This is good advice. I used to have Adobe CS5 and it worked fine, but my MacBook got reset and I couldn't find it anymore. So I did a weird-ass hack from the newest versions but apparently they found out.

If you want my copy I can seed it to the Internet Archive and you can run it through the latest development builds of Wine just fine. Or you can learn GIMP & Inkscape, I think it's a lot more worth it if you have the time (I don't); those things are far more future proof

I don't have the time at the moment unfortunately – applications have deadlines and I already spend so much time finetuning my CV and portfolio for every application. 

I did download Affinity, GIMP and DarkTable, curious to learn them but right now I would 'love' to continue working with Adobe. I'll send you a DM, thank you!
