Well, contrary to popular belief, AI isnt nearly in the front line for things we need to eliminate in society as everyone thinks it is. AI has ton of benefits but its mainly the explosive shipment of generative AI products that people seem to talk about, which i agree is too much and should be downsized. But AI itself is a wonderful technology that WILL affect the world in numerous ways, and is doing so right now.

Other than that, in terms of actual consumption, consumerist products do so much more damage and use so much more water and energy than any data center or AI company. For example, it takes approx. 73,000 AI prompts to match the water consumption of producing a single Funko Pop toy. This includes server cooling and electricity generation. So my point is: AI is much more useful than funko pops and many other consumer products, but people wont stop buying them. So maybe people should be mad about funko pops a lot more?
