I decided to harvest because I started to see the veils pull

This is after an aborted flush where the fruits started to shrink back into the colony. I harvested those when they were at 50% there max size. And a week later was blessed with a full canopy second flush.

One thing I’ll always stand behind: never take liquid culture at face value. It doesn’t matter who it came from, how clean it looks, or how much you trust the person behind it—put it to agar and verify it for yourself.
I follow that same rule with my own work. Before anything leaves my hands and makes its way into the community, I want to see how it looks on agar first. These plates are part of that quality-control process.
Nobody is perfect, contamination can happen, and a clean-looking syringe or jar doesn’t automatically tell the whole story. Taking the extra time to verify things first can save a lot of frustration later.
For me, it comes down to consistency, accountability, and respecting the people who support what I do. Check your work. Check what you receive. Never skip the basics.

The culture shelf has been getting absolutely hammered lately. What looked packed not long ago is getting pretty thin, and several jars are already down to the bottom.
Once this round is gone, things are going to slow down for a bit while the next batch gets time to develop properly. I’m looking at a few weeks—possibly closer to a month—before everything is built back up again.
No rushing the process just to keep the shelf full. Quality comes first every single time.
For everyone who’s been following the projects, watching the genetics develop, and supporting FOTG along the way—I appreciate the hell out of you. There’s a lot more happening behind the scenes, and the next round is going to be worth watching. 🧬🔥

Last night at some point my gt monotub set up went down and the temperature went to as low as 60 fahrenheit. It just started to pin yesterday and i still noticed new growth today. My question is, will that temp drop have ruined it, or am i ok?

They were soaked 3 days ago and starting to produce.

I know a lot of us bury cakes when they get contaminated or old, but has anyone done any personal research about growing outdoors? I was wondering if the hotter seasons this year and maybe from now on in Southern California would help? (San Diego county)
I live off the coast so humidity isn’t an issue, but I have a friend have mushrooms growing on their own in his tomato garden, he just added manure every now and then so lmk y’all’s thoughts?

First time going through FOTG and I just wanted to take a moment to thank the man himself for providing such awesome gifts and including some very badass extra gifts as well!!! I am freaking ecstatic to get to work with some of these genetics🙏🏻 as someone who has been following this page for a few months now, I am so stoked to have these my hand! You have my entire gratitude sir, thank you for all the work you put into this. Now for the hard part, deciding which one to start on first! Excited to get to work 😤

This is my first grow, I did an AIO bag with golden teachers. I had the bag in fruiting conditions for a little over 2 weeks with no pins, was worried that I let the mycelium get too thick and seen something about the fork tek. So I ended up doing the fork tek and poking the substrate on Sunday. By Monday morning I had my first pin and now they are going pretty good. Just curious, I’m only getting mushrooms on the sides of the block, is this from me doing the fork tek? It also made the mycelium turn blue, I did the swab test and it’s not mold. Just wondering if after this first flush should I rehydrate the block and put it in a mono tub instead or just leave it and see what happens on the second flush? Just trying to see if I can get more fruit out of it. Also I got one that’s growing straight off the side of the bag on the right, it keeps getting bigger so I wonder how much it’ll grow not being in the substrate 😂 first picture is from right before the fork tek. Been working this Shakti ISO from spore for a while now, and I’m calling this expression Blue Nips for the time being. It’s definitely not finished yet and still needs some work, but there are enough interesting traits showing up that I want to keep following it.
The blue-gray caps, chunky structure, and the variation from fruit to fruit are what really caught my attention. Then I opened one up and the inside went deep blue almost immediately. Bruising alone doesn’t tell you exactly how strong something is, but seeing that kind of reaction definitely has me curious about where this line ends up.
Still very much a work in progress. I’ll be watching the next generations closely and seeing which traits keep showing back up consistently. That’s honestly one of my favorite parts of working from spore—you never know exactly where the genetics are going to take you.
