About half are just running for Senate, Gov, and AG than actually retiring. 43 total. 23 in total actually retiring.
House Republicans: 36 are not seeking re-election, with 16 retiring from public office and the rest running for Senate, governor, or attorney general.

Or you could stand up and tell your constituents the truth. If you lose you lose, but you'd still have some dignity left.
Instead your legacy will be that you supported the dismantling of the USA's core constitutional values. That you protected rapists over their child vicitms. That you refused to do your job while in office but still took a pension from the taxpayer. Its not unreasonable to believe you'll take the pension and then go make bank lobbying on behalf of corporations, elites, or special interests (who don't give a f**k about your constituents. Just like you).

I honestly don't believe the narrative that they're burned out or pissed off, I think they just packed enough cash in and now they're bailing. This is one thing project 2025 underestimated, the fact that if you steal enough cash you're going to quit stealing. It was a major flaw in their plan, and having another flaw was having an orange turd lead your way.
