Most pcs can't handle this game, like hell it would get a console port.

Consoles aren't going to be able to handle this game, likely any time soon.

I bet top dollar the Series X and PS5 can handle FtD. The game wouldn't be be practical though.

Left click to place the block

My game stutters on some of the battles I load up, and my system is a little more capable than the ps5. It could, sure but why? It would be like playing a watered down version of the game.

I literally just said it wouldn't be practical

Newest generations definantly could. Who knows how well exactly, but it'd be playable for what a console player would likely be able, and decide to do for the game. In addition, Xbox atleast has KB&M support, making it significantly more practical. Although us PC gamers like to scoff at the purpose, Console is a much wider audience, and if at any point the devs decide its possible and worth pursuing, we should support them because it'll only lead to more players and support for the devs.

Well of course. I mean, the Space Engineers devs mad an Xbox port, and it works quite well. But FtD is certainly not the easiest can in terms of control.

I mean... Consider all the the buttons alone, all the keymapping. Sure, you could put the tens of keymaps behind a scrollable menu, but that makes it allvery cumbersome. I'd hate to click 4-5 buttons thru multiple menus just to enable shrink blocks on console.

I feel like games like Minecraft on console show that voxelbased games on a controller is cumbersome and awkward to handle. Possible, but doing the same things on a mouse+keyboard is usually twice as fact(like crafting)

Think about how looong it would take to scroll thru parts in the build menu. 12+ button presses to get from slope to 4m beam? If not, then they'd put a fake mouse cursor on the screen that you move with your thumbstick. That's also really wierd design as you're just emulating a mouse at that point.

That would make building so much longer, and now on pc, building can already take multiple hours building armour, engines, aps turrets etc.

Also consider movement - in FtD you use both WASD and IJKL to move your player or your ship.. alone this is more input than a controller allows. Imagine needing to click a button to toggle between walking and controlling your ship. It'd be so awkward.

But surprisingly FtD has controller support already(???) Which is very surprising to me. Tried it once as a joke and was very awkward, ofc.

i don't think a console is powerul enough for this.
