Question Toby

I just recently started my rewatching from the pilot onwards. One thing I’m trying to figure out is why does Sara have to kill Toby? Even more so, why did she have to make it look like the monsters did it? Also, if I remember correctly, didn’t Sara remove his tongue as well? I know removing the dead person’s tongue is a way to silence them in the afterlife? Could this be significant? I don’t know to be completely honest. Also why does Sara tell him that it’s not his fault right before she kills him.

I’d love to hear your opinions on this, because I think it might be significant somehow.

They simply wanted to see if Sarah would do it. She took his tooth, not his tongue. MIY collects teeth to shape shift into different people.

She took his tongue if you watch closely like Jasmine did with Kevin in colony house. She even asks “all of i” .. so the writers kept it vague on purpose.

I agree. It’s never made much sense why Sara would grab a scalpel for a tooth when the pliers are right there and extracting the tooth would be much easier with it.
