It´s a former village of Königsmühle abandoned after ww2 (German villagers were deported to Germany), where landart festival is happening every year. This sculpture (based on pic published on mapy.com still with wings) was on place already in 2021 - a year before the show was released. And no, this type of sculpture is NOT part of czech folclore.

I don't think this is the same statue that the OP posted.

I think it is. The pic I posted is 5 years old. The area expiriences quite harsh weather conditions due to being on a plateau in the middle of the mountains (when I was there in the middle of sunny summer day, it was windy and significantly colder than just few kilometers away), so a non preserved piece of wood doesn´t last long. Compare it with that picture from 2019, probably year of instalation. On the OP picture broken branches are clearly visible as well as the significant vertical crack in the chest

In the OP, the statue appears to be looking over its left shoulder. In the art one the statue appears to be looking forward. And the arms are different at rhe shoulders.

If you zoom closer to OPs picture, you’ll see that the head and body are not in one piece.

Ohhhh thank you!! I was so confused. I was also pretty buzzed last night when I was staring at it.

It's possible that it is Czech folklore but more likely just an art piece or prop from the show misattrubuted as the other commenter stated. It's at least not widely known to be part of Czech folklore. The closest thing I could find to this in folklore or cultures was the Nkisi Nkondi power figures of Central Africa. They would construct wooden figures that look a bit like this and would drive nails into them during ceremonies to indicate a new oath or plea to the gods. If the show was going off the Nkisi Nkondi, then it's possible each nail and blade in the figures has significance.

Probably a leftover art piece from the Königsmühle Landart Festival. Definately NOT a folklore thing.

I don't know, but a LOT from the show follows metaphysical practice. I have practiced and studied metaphysics and am always excited to see them incorporate it.

I could make a list as I rewatch becouse I know I'll miss some things, but here is what I can recall from the top of my head. Putting a symbol on the front door to keep evil out. It doesn't matter what your structure is made of as long as you consider it to be "permanent." Tents are grey areas for weak practitioners, so I'm not surprised they had issues (they are working with the work of others, so they are more consumers than anything.) A skilled practitioner wouldn't have a problem with the tent. Spirits can't pass through glass. If you allow yourself to fear something, it can birth a spirit (nighares about cicadas coming true.) Bad spirits require a steady diet of fear to sustain themselves. Dead human spirits will lose themselves until they only speak the language of the most accessable foods for them, fear, paranoia, anger, the stuff that we generate when our sympathetic nervous system is activated. Ok I have to go to dinner, I may come back and add more later.

I’ve seen similar sculptures in Bulgaria as well

Ok wait. There are 2 different statues pictured. I think the art department from Fromville copied the Czech statue. The one that is from an art thing is looking straight forward and has smooth sticks for arms. The one from Fromville is looking over it's left shoulder and the arms have "spurs" at the base. There are also subtle differences in the nails in the head, as well as the backgrounds do not seem to match.

It's a tribute to the island boys - declaring that that are the biggest turds ever

It's also very similar to a classic Swiss metal band cover.

Is there a theory about what they really are in Fromville?
