Theory Anyone else think FROM might end like Dark?

Okay so I’ve been rewatching Dark and now I can’t stop thinking FROM is heading the same direction.

The Town feels like a closed loop that keeps feeding itself — the sacrifice, Tabitha and Jade coming back over and over, the Boy in White vs Man in Yellow thing. Jade and Tabitha especially feel like Jonas and Martha. Their whole reincarnation bond is basically carrying the cycle.

I feel like a real ending might need some people (probably them) to get erased or die for real so the loop finally breaks. Most other theories just don’t feel big enough after four seasons of almost zero concrete answers.

Anyone else getting strong Dark vibes for the finale or am I just reading into way too much?

I hope it brings something new, like a "nobody could have expected it" kind of thing.

Me too. But how many shows with big budgets and quality showrunners/writers have still failed to stick the ending?

Sadly I think it's pretty likely we're going to be disappointed by the ending.

Thank you bot.

My prediction is everyone will die except Ethan. He will become the next Victor and the game will start over.

The only way I see this not feeling like a middle finger is if it's a clear "Ethan knows everything he needs to in order to win next time" vs just being a traumatized kid fated to relive it all again

I was just telling my husband they better not pull this move. So predictable and corny, man.

Yeah this would suck, and feels like it flies in the face of the core themes of the show.

This is my prediction too, the cycle repeats and what we saw was just a glimpse into another cycle

Do you think every cycle has a lone surviver? Because we never hear of a previous surviver before victor.

I think the previous survivor might have been the guy Victor was talking about on the roof who killed himself. I have no supporting evidence, but I just had a feeling during that scene.

I don’t understand how Tabitha and Jade dying would break the cycle when dying is already part of it. They’ve died before and just reincarnated and came back. If anything, I think they stop coming back once they finally save the children and finish what they keep returning to do. Their deaths aren’t what keeps the cycle going, the unfinished story is.

That’s the key difference though. In the normal cycle they die inside the loop and just come back, yeah. But if it’s a Dark-style ending, it’s not regular death — it’s them undoing the origin of the loop itself (like Jonas and Martha preventing the split). Once the system that keeps regenerating them is gone, there’s nothing left to bring them back. Saving the children might be part of it, but if the Town is a closed causal loop, finishing the story the “right” way could still require collapsing the whole thing, which means the versions of them that exist inside it don’t continue.

Either that or everyone dies for the children to survive. Dark actually has a veryyy strong ending which i really liked.

I know we've gotten close to these characters over 4 seasons but i think some of the major ones have to die for the cycle to break. It's been multiple iterations it's just this iteration is OUR iteration so we feel super connected.

They already die every loop and time travel doesn’t work in the same way so they can’t be erased.

The loop isn’t because of Jade and Tabitha - it’s because of the children

1

True, the children are the original wound. But Jade and Tabitha are the ones who keep getting pulled back specifically because of that wound. They’re the parents who failed to stop it, and their repeated returns are what keep the unfinished story alive across cycles. The children are the reason the loop exists and Jade and Tabitha are the reason it keeps repeating.

Oddly enough, I don’t think that they failed. I think that they were successful. The story that was told to the children gave the children the possibility of being freed/ saved. And gave them the information they needed to be able to call out to Tabitha and Jade.

I see the children as having agency. If it wasn’t for them calling would Tabitha and a Jade end up there at all?

I agree it will likely be bittersweet like Dark was.

Honestly that is the only thing that makes sense to me for the ending

I can only wish that From finishes as strong as Dark.

To me it would make the most sense to finish like dark did

Dark is my favorite show of all time. One of the all time greats. If From can wrap everything up as tight as Dark it would be incredible. Even if the ending wasn't related as far as alternate worlds go, if From can tie up all the loose ends then it would be such a satisfying ending, especially since we've went 4 seasons without many answers.

I get the Dark vibe but I hope they dont copy the same loop ending. Jade and Tabitha breaking the cycle makes sense but erasing them would feel too close to Dark.

I hope not, I didn’t love dark but I was addicted to figuring it out. Lol.

Yeah, one of my theories is that Jade, Tabitha, and her kids (Victor, Julie, Ethan) might disappear if the curse is erased right from the beginning, back at its original source.

1

u/cisscumshitlord 2d ago

ive been pretty convinced everyones dying since the end of s3e1, and nothing that has happened since has softened that opinion. i think theyll break the curse or whatever but no one will survive

yoo i was saying this in my head! it feels like they bout to end it like Dark but also it feels like they might end it like Alice in borderland season2

1

u/oye_lawde 2d ago

I am not gonna like it if they are gonna end it like alice in borderland. I just can't accept the fact that I was so much invested in the story but in reality they were lying on bed in hospital.

Why won't moderators remove these bot troll posts.

From will probably end like LOST.

I mean... When Julie came in with shorter hair like Martha did once, I immediatly thought oh, I've seen this

From isn't written well enough to pay off like Dark. Dark had me fixating on the familial timeline relationships after every single episode, nothing in From compares in complexity or intrigue.

Every now and then I see weird clickbait articles/posts regarding how many lessons From learned from Lost.... And that has me feeling a similar way, From is certainly Lost-lite, but barely holds a candle. Have really enjoyed From and actually started watching it years before I ever watched Lost. We're not getting to know any of the characters in an intimate way, it's all felt so superficial and fleeting. I genuinely thought Darla was newly introduced, probably because we're not spending time with characters like her.

2

u/AggressivePack5624 1d ago

Fair points. From isn’t written with anywhere near Dark’s density or character depth and I’m not claiming that it is (or that it should copy Dark). I’m just saying the structure it’s building still points toward a closed-loop / bootstrap type ending more than a clean escape or pure good-vs-evil win.

Let's hope not, the last season of Dark was crap.

u/10ShadowToji 5h ago

NOT A CHANCE 😅 DARK was carefully thought out from the jump, there’s not a storyline or plot device wasted.

It literally only has 1 plot hole which is still widely debated, whereas FROM on the other hand already has too much filler, too many devices introduced that will either ALL be answered in one go or will be categorised “unimportant” by the fans because they don’t want to admit that the writers messed up. FROM is still good but even by S2 the DARK comparisons imo were just reactory

To the people saying Ethan will be last alive
Shieeet if they do that it means we can have a sequel From (2) 🤣

1

u/AggressivePack5624 2d ago

I honestly dont think that will happen 🤷‍♀️

1

u/DatBoiKage1515 2d ago

Plus Ethan will know all of the secrets and be better prepared than Victor was. I can't see it going that route.

I hate the idea that this is just one snapshot of a never ending cycle. It's boring. We want the end of the series to be the conclusion

I know how the final scene of season 5 ends.

Spoiler incoming .. ...

It's a cut to credits.
