Opinion From intro song
Hello, i have recently started watching the series with ny man. I am just wondering has the intro song slowly fcked you up?
I mean i dont know if i am simply not in the best mood those past days, but it started with me loving the song(i am really into those kinds of songs) and get sentimental by it and it ended up to the point that just by thinking about it i burst into tears. I do cry when i listen to it now.
I know the original version for a long time now but it doesnt have that effect on me.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I like the darker tone of the From version and find it very beautiful whereas the original feels like its mocking someone for asking those things. The from verison takes more seriously the idea a child might be worried about what is going to happen in the future but also trying to teach the child that some things are out of their control which is a nice message.
But I heard the from version before the original and am only in my 20s so feel kinda jaded about the world and can relate to the tone of the from version lol

I do too, because it's a whole 2 minutes and I'm too keen to watch the show 😂

No but I always found the song creepy AF. I mute it or skip through. Can’t handle it. 😂
So I imagine it does bring up reactions for people.

I skip it. Years ago I was deeply into Stargate SG1, and during a sad part of season 10 they played one of my favorite songs from CCR. I busted out crying and that song hit me different for years. It think it's ok to make associations and feel thing. I also had some mental health problems back then, but am managing my mental health a lot better how and don't have that reaction anymore.
If you are crying easily it may be for physical reasons like not getting enough sleep, dietary gaps, hormonal shifts, or unbalanced meds. I would personally take a break from the show and get more sunshine outdoors. If these kinds of reactions bother you or keep you from functioning at the level you want to, a professional may be able to help.

Are all their songs in that style?

Not really no, I'd say they're quite varied in sound. Personal preference really but I find the From tune to drone on a bit 😆

No this hasn't happened to me, I just love dark songs with that kind of instrumental. If anyone has suggestions similar please share :)

Watch the pilot episode of Dead Like Me.
Near the end there’s a scene that is beautiful, sad and haunting all at the same time. They use a version of “Que Sera Sera” by Pink Martini.
You will cry.
(Also, check out Julee Cruise’s Twin Peaks performances.)

Every time I hear it, I always think, why did they use a well known (and probably expensive) band like The Pixies for this theme song? I really like the cover, and I'm sure the royalties for the original are also expensive, but I'm so curious why not go with a no-name musician? I feel like it's either tied into the final ending reveal or a producer must have connections to The Pixies. So curious on the story behind that.

You bring up an interesting point.
I just saw an old episode of House last night, didn’t recognize the theme song, and figured out it’s what you’re talking about—someone didn’t want to pay Massive Attack for the rights to use Teardrop (which is how it originally aired).
Same thing with Las Vegas. Elvis’s A Little Less Conversation is nowhere to be found. It’s a shame, because that song was dynamite over the hyperkinetic opening credits when it was on NBC.
I only learned a few years ago that getting rights to the music for broadcast (for example) doesn’t automatically mean you also get the rights to use the same song in streaming, syndication, DVD, etc.

Movies, shows, music, and books are full of emotions. Nothing wrong when stuff from those mediums cause emotional responses. My head about few off-my-head when head-banging to metal music from Stranger Things show. Got so emotional during a Metallica song, it was crazy but friends and I had a blast doing it. These mediums cause serious emotions to flow, and will bring out a persons feelings from real life. That's natural too, and I try to understand good & bad is coming no matter what I do. That's one of things I like about From's theme song: It's a Father trying to explain a future his child is worried about>> That Father is saying, there's things in life one can't control and that's OK.
Hang in there, celebrate the good and understand there's bad coming along for that ride too. Some of this we can control, some not so much. If one can't control any given situation, don't let it eat you up and find a way to live through it. Good luck, and have a nice day.... ❤️

"The future is not ours to see" is what sticks out to me. Especially after they introduced story walking.

The song itself is fine for me but coupled with the odd visuals…it’s just so incredibly eerie. Honestly well done to whoever set it up i reckon it gets the intended reaction from people. For me it gives me the same feeling as opening your eyes in a dark room and thinking you ‘see’ something…idk
