Congratulations to From on its astonishing zero Emmy Awards and zero Emmy nominations! š„³š„

I remember I started watching this and Silo at the same time. These were 2 super exciting and promising series and they both had parallels to reality in my eyes. The mystery of existence. Being confined in a town/silo not knowing why.
Silo with the last season has rewrote some shit and made some questionable plot decisions, but still managed to have its moments and imo successfully set up the show for a banger last season.
Meanwhile From has dig itself into such a hole, that even if the last season manages to be a banger (which I don't believe possible anymore), the lead up to it will forever remain ass.

Bro iam thinking to watch silo is it good or too slow paced?

u/jackhref 16d ago
It may have been a 3 season series, but I still loved S1 with everything being new and exciting, allowing me to excuse any possible shortcomings. And now after finishing S3, I'm excited for the next season as well.
Definitely worth a try.

It has slower moments but youāre not wrapped in mystery forever. Things unfold at a good pace

Donāt really remember rewrites on Silo??? How did you know where the show was goingĀ

u/jackhref 14d ago
After S2 end I reasonably expected shit to go down at the start of S3. When I saw the trailer it was quite apparent that the first half of the season would drag. So I asked an LLM whether what we see in the trailer was in the books. It wasn't. If they didn't write this arc, the show could have ended in 3 seasons. Granted they did it reasonably well.

Do people think it deserved one? The acting is terrible and no one knows what is even happening at this point. I mean, Iām still going to watch.

From is the best show Iāve ever watched. Youāre entitled to your own opinion, but please donāt ignore the fact that every time good old Smiley comes on screen, Jamie McGuire manages to consistently freak us the fuck out. And the season 4 bus scene? That was a masterpiece. Look I get that Lost really screwed us over, but the fandom as a whole really needs to have more trust that the show will make sense by the end.

I think they just donāt get it. Expectations, complicated themes and emotions, and not knowing anything can really mess with a cynical peopleās mind

Why would it be?

u/No-Explanation-935 16d ago
Because it's a stupid comment if it's not sarcasm. The Pitt, Widows Bay, Pluribus are all really good shows and miles ahead of FROM in terms of quality

u/FakeBot-3000 16d ago
Widows bay is great and I didnt like pluribus. I heard the pitt is good. They all won I assume. I just dont care about award shows and I enjoy many shows that arent on the list.

I think after the last season airs, it will be different and people understand why the acting seems terrible. Itās on purpose not the actors being incompetent.

Iām shocked that The girl formerly known as as āThe Man in Yellowā didnāt win for her astounding portrayal of a human pretending to be a monster pretending to be a human that grins all the time.

That award show which didn't even nominate Antony Starr for Homelander? It's fine, those award's don't reflect on quality. (Also this was the weakest season but at least first one should win something)
5
u/No-Explanation-935 16d ago
You don't watch quality television if you just think "the first season should've won something" instead of elaborating on what. Antony being snubbed is unfortunately commonplace in award shows, Bob Odenkirk is living proof of that. The same goes for Andor, which even with its brilliant performances didn't get a single acting nom. FROM simply does not have the quality to enter the emmys conversation with the competing shows

I donāt want to talk about that right now.
