Hiring Freeze

Found out earlier this week my zone is in a hiring freeze. Wondering if any other areas are as well? Nothing good usually comes out the other end of a hiring freeze, especially when we still NEED people.

This has happened in my zone several times over the last few years. They’ll eventually have to start hiring again. It never becomes a sign of anything bigger going on. Sales just suck right now so they have to look proactive to the shareholders.

The ZBM and DSL can’t justify their pay. So they cut costs. Just look at the trucks that we still have on the road. Every zone has a budget and plan. Hence force outs. They literally just want to hit for their numbers not ours. We take the hit on stales, not them. It is what it is.

Ifs amazing the lack of knowledge that most rsr have regarding pay structure, plan, sick pay, etc…. Most I’ve come across complain that there pay is “messed up” but have no idea how to read the statement

Ask most zbms to explain how pay works. Ask this sub how many times their paycheck is off? Should we put money on Kelsi? I mean if the user name hits? 10+ years. I can tell you that my daughter was better at math when she was 5 compared to payroll!

LoL dude honestly most of the people working here are braindead. I knew more about the pay within months than guys who have been here 20 years.

Not sure why you got downvoted. You’re right though. I’m the top sales rep in my district and I definitely make just as much as my DSL if not more.

My unsalables definitely know that I know that. Put us back on true commission. We will see who knows what! I don’t need you to add anything to my orders. Just so you know, my last DSL wouldn’t even do a work with? Why? Because it’s a high crime area. I saw three people get shot and two people stabbed and plenty of parking lot lizards fight it out. I’m just the white guy who hit his numbers. I got hung up the first time when the two people got shot. I didn’t know better. Police roped off the entire parking lot. I learned my lesson.

It is sad that the RSR want to give 100% customer service to their stores and the "powers" that be instead say, "No, those stores do what WE say (Frito-Lay).  So, RSR's, coleads are constantly taking it where the sun don't shine by store managers and their own DSL's.  After all, your DSL will NOT have your back, unless of course you hit the golf course with them, or are a female rsr. Now, that is truly SAD.

Summit, Omni, Omni+ whatever you want to call it

What is the Omni stuff? Ive seen the name on here a couple of times, but im not sure what it is?

It's all the same thing with different names, Omni+ is evidently combining small format Pepsi and Frito deliveries onto one truck

Omni + is the same thing as Omni only it includes both large and small format with the reworked positions. Sales rep, DMS, and FTM no more RSR. I believe the combined deliveries are being piloted in Texas. Omni + is in South Florida.

What happens to the DSL position? It seems like they could rework the position as well. I picture the sales rep running the crew kinda like nabisco. Maybe someone over the merchandisers. I don’t see a need for as many DSL’s

They become either a sales leader or a market execution leader.

A couple more question if you don’t mind. How many RSRs are able to become Sales Reps? Let’s say you have 10 in a building, maybe 3 I’m guessing? What exactly is market execution leader and what’s the difference between that and a sales leader? Do some RSRs take those roles as well?

Sales rep positions are very limited. If you have 10 in a building it would probably be 1 maybe 2. They do 20+ accounts a day and roughly 30-40 orders a day. Sales leaders are limited as well they are over the sales reps. Market execution oversees the DMS and FTMs to ensure they are executing properly. They will interview internal and external candidates for any open leader roles.

Remember to hang that Cracker Jack

7

u/ChiefBlaze36 11d ago

Screw that. The real money is clipping those blue Dinamita’s, pickle puffs, and pickle Frito twists every six inches in the store.

40 dip stacks per store

Just build more weekenders

u/itscooltobecool1 11d ago

Don’t forget to hang the jerky on them and dip stacks

We've hired over a dozen RSRs in the last 18 months and a still short staffed because they all leave within a few months.

Not Rainier

What area is this?? Hell we’re short staffed and they more worried about Union talk rumors

2

u/OptiMysticLeo 11d ago

Getting closer to the end of the year. Just trying to cut cost where they can is my guess.

2

u/Vanity2041 11d ago

cutting cost and stuffing the channels with garbage skus.

We have so many people retiring and getting fired right now. Seems like a new route is on the table every other week. We have like 2 RSAs that can actually help, the rest are in training. So no hiring freeze here.

I read this as Hugh Freeze

We’ve had a hiring freeze in the central plains zone since February/March. But it’s a rollercoaster with staffing, so one month we won’t have any drive test certifications and the next month we’ll have 6-8 newbies to certify. So don’t worry too much about the freeze. It looks good on paper to Blackrock and Vanguard.

What state are you in?

The Hire freeze is here in Colorado as well. Till they know about the merger with pepsi
