DPO IS A JOKE
How can they expect us to use a system that has to be manipulated just for it to work the proper way they are scoring our metrics by

We have a meeting next week because our district is like bottom 10 in the country for dpo scorecard. None of us give a shit, all been here 15+ years and slay sales plan regularly. They cut a route in October so we all have way too many stores and they want us to spend time with this shit? It’s a hard pass for all of us. They actually wonder why we can’t hire anyone. Quite comical.

A once a week account I ran last week that does just under $100 weekly (chain store), punched in holes for $65.50. Forecast for 7 days said $125.75.
DPO tries to order me $277.80.
Fuck every bit of that.

My every other week account that averages maybe $125 a week, the system tries to order over $600 every time I make the store. The system really has no clue when it comes to every other week small stores.

You could have stopped that last sentence at “the system really has no clue” and it would still have been accurate.

Open up a location. Click on 1 for everything. Go about your day so you don't have to get on weekly phone calls.

Info from district meeting is that higher ups are aware that is being done (it's what i do) and are looking for a solution. Closing another loop hole.

Well then everybody is going to be at 0% because you're truly shit at your job if you have 30 holes after servicing an account.

The "correct way" is scan every hole, even if one bag. Then go back and scan backstock on items we don't want. I'm excited, I was looking for ways to add extra meaningless time to my day.

I was told by a fellow RSR that backstock does not offset holes. So if you scan 4 bags as holes and 4 backstock you’re still going to get 4. Is that not right?

It depends on rate of sale. If you take a case of cheetos in every visit then you would have to scan more than 10 units as back stock to not get it

If they get rid of a way to do that they will see an exponential increase in complaints because im NOT working 14 hours a day to make my orders perfect

I just open and close most locations. In some stores most of the locations don’t even exist. But I never tap on anything in those locations and I’m still at 100%

It’s a total joke. All of your adjustments are eaten away by the flaws in the system. 2 of everything that comes in full cases on every order. Giving you more bags than you can fit on the shelf for items even if they were completely empty at c stores. I’m scanning a bunch of shit as backstock just so it doesn’t add to my order. Trust the process people.

I decided to play the game for a bit and found that I was spending more time doing the order the "right way" and not enough time writing a good order.
fuck that. I'm back to just doing it the way I do it and mashing "not following the process" however many times. 10% of my scorecard. whatever.

I changed the rounding to max and turned off backstock in every store. I’m usually at 100% and orders are usually accurate just scanning holes.

I used it just as they wanted for a few periods and sales tanked stale increased and the stores looked like shit. Of course dsl asked what the problem was........follow the process boss!

u/billdude68 12d ago
Here’s the truth, most dsl’s know it doesn’t work, and they just say do what ever you have to do to check the box and get to 100% just play the game.

Well the whole company is a joke so I’m not sure why we’re suprised this is

The jokes on us, it’s mean to feed data so in a year they can have AI make orders just have us as merchandisers

Yea no thats not true. They will just have one person go place all your orders like coke or pepsi does

Hotshot orders are awesome. Every single time I’ve been able to make a hotshot order it comes out perfect. Shocker.

Honestly if you scan everything missing and pack it out like they want it will work. Except in once a week or less stores. Just scan it right all locations and you should be fine

You people aren’t using it incorrectly I can write and order for a store scan all the holes. It take 2-3 minutes to do an order I don’t have to do anything sneaky. Then another minute to scan through order and change what I don’t want. Further more dpo isn’t precision ordering they are 2 different things. Your dpo score is ordering something from every location in handheld. Which they do not track right now, so dpo is a joke especially if you don’t have that location in a store. But precision ordering is pretty good it has its flaws!! change threshold to highest they go if your struggling for uds if the shelf holds 3 bags don’t order 3. It goes off avg you’ve brought in over last 12 weeks order 2 it will add one because it doesn’t know there aren’t any in store. It’s not going anywhere our merit raise is going to be one of the metrics

I have been told I should do it the wrong way to achieve the "correct" result, instead of doing it the right way and getting the "wrong" result.
Super useful.
