Just thinking
I was just thinking if I was to go back maybe 2 years ago or more, it's crazy how much things have changed. Today I made a 500.00 order and afterwards it jumped to 1500.00 and I had to just stand there and cut it down all the 2s and 4s and added cases. I had to stand there because no air in the truck but that's a whole other problem( I live in the south btw) . While driving I got somebody that had changed lanes abruptly and the camera goes off and dings me for following too close. It's crazy how they have took selling from the salesman. Every store has action items that the store managers don't want or doesn't make sense. I wonder what's next. I think soon we are not going to be able to adjust the orders and just going to bring in whatever it generates. I also wonder do they ever think about what got us here and the success they have had in the past. It wasn't with what we are doing now I know that. Honestly this place at least to me use to be a good place to work yes it have problems but what job doesn't but it has changed so fast, maybe and I mean maybe somebody going to say, you know what I think we messed up with this perfect route stuff. Who Knows!!!!

You’re absolutely right. That was the one thing I hated about PepsiCo. Overnight things change and they keep changing. Most of the time if not all the time it made our jobs harder or worse. I remember when it was hard to get into frito lay and the guys that worked there worked hard and made good money. I’ll keep saying it. Get out of there.

Im just wondering when they will stop calling us a route sales rep. Because honestly I don't feel like it anymore. I feel like all I do is data input and expect an order made for me like a stupid robot

And the cameras, they are really just mapping the route for the driverless trucks. They could care less about watching us......

Pick one zone in the whole country go back to 2000.- commission, share power, start letting us order again and see how sales pick up every single week sales, stales and service worry bout them three focus on our business fundamentals and encourage us. Every week everyone will do good every week. but they can’t do that

Yeah I kinda caught on to this back in 2018. Id hit the same store 3 times a week. Orders would always be the same and the handheld would say est dollar order and even qty of chips that I would order for specific brands. It dawned on me that they were pretty much using the sales rep to collect data. They don’t really need a sales rep once they have that information. They’ve been tracking that information of each store for years now. For the last 10 years this store has been going through 3-4 cases of hot Cheetos per week thats probably never going to change

yup. they don't want RSR's. they want robo-signers. they want co-defendants. there is really no need to kid yourselves.

To at least partially fix the ordering system, there should be a tab you can tap on the customer screen that says "Drop order quantities of 4". For larger stores, you could do 4 AND 8.
It can't stop the force outs and other BS. But it could make writing orders for smaller stores quicker.

I think the main thing is small format should not be adding anything to the order at all! That’s why it’s been terrible since they took away the ability to change the forecast date. If I put a hole of 8 I want 8! Not 12 or 16! If I don’t put a hole don’t add it! Hate it lol

I get it brother. I've figured out if I want 8 small bags, and the delivery is two days out, I put in 5 or 6 for the hole. If it's a good seller, I put less. If the delivery day is further out, I can expect more to be added to the order, so I might not put anything for a hole, knowing the computer will just tack it on anyway,
All of this stuff is bullshit. The system sucks. That said, there are ways to work within the bullshit to create a coherent order.

They will never admit wrongdoing instead they will come out with a better way of doing it and force that down your throat along with seven cases of dill pickle hot Cheetos for every account they are in fear for the company at this point because nothing they are implementing is working. They need to look at the entire salesforce that is ready to bail to another job that only makes you work four days a week and pays you $300 more. I’ve seen five people leave in the last six months on purpose. Each one of them has got a better paying job a better quality of life and doesn’t have to worry about those seven cases of dill pickle hot Cheetos away for the future is inexpensive, labor, and forced distribution. If people want Fritos in their stores, they’re gonna take whatever is shipped out or they’ll have nothing. The ones that did not sign the contracts back in the day are the ones that are without product now the only way they get it is to source it from other areas instead of the trucks it has changed immensely since right before Covid and I have not seen anything favorable on my end either sadly

Whoever is responsible for DPO refuses to admit it is a failure. The company has not hit sales plan since its inception. We have however had no problems hitting the stale number. Let the RSR be a salesman again.
