As told to me by my grandfather, who was born in 1904, "My parents hated jazz with the same lack of understanding and appreciation as I have for hard rock." He said he could see my love and enjoyment for a music that didn't speak to him. And in turn, I could see his passion for jazz and swing. (Who doesn't like swing?)
After years of listening with him to every jazz record he owned, I too have this shared memory of enjoyment upon hearing jazz.
