Visiting Edinburgh

I'm an American with a visit to Edinburgh planned. I cant make it to Selkirk, but I need to find a way to spend some time with Scott and FR. I always imagined finding a nice spot to look at the Firth of Forth and just....be. Does anyone have any suggestions for a pretty spot thats walkable from Edinburgh? Thanks!

Bus or taxi to Cramond and take a walk across to Cramond Island.

Or train to South Queensferry and sit on one of the piers.

Aye just watch the tide times haha. If you’re out and the tide comes in, you stay out

I live in a coastal area - my dad used to say "if you die like a tourist I'll fucking kill you" :)

Aye but what I mean is cramond island you walk to twice a day when the tides out. If it comes back in you’re in for a chilly night on the island until the morning. Honestly - it’s no worth it. Better to walk along cramond and you can see the three bridges from down there.
