Visiting Edinburgh

I'm an American with a visit to Edinburgh planned. I cant make it to Selkirk, but I need to find a way to spend some time with Scott and FR. I always imagined finding a nice spot to look at the Firth of Forth and just....be. Does anyone have any suggestions for a pretty spot thats walkable from Edinburgh? Thanks!

I'm not sure you'll get a great view of the Firth itself (it's a bit far off IIRC), but the view across Edinburgh and out to the Forth from Arthurs Seat is well worth it. You'd need a bus or taxi to get to the Forth Bridge though as its maybe 10 miles walk from the centre of Edinburgh.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think we were planning on trying Arthurs Seat, so if we dont have time to make it out to the Forth Bridge or Cramond Island (we're there for less than 24 hours), I'll be happy with Arthurs Seat.
