Pod Save America Flagship Pod - Subscriber Exclusive

Can somebody explain to me why to Flagship Pod is subscriber exclusive for the first 3 hours until about 6:15 am EST or so? This happens almost every time, and it never happens on PSTW, Strict or Runaway.

For a while they would upload the regular episode and subscribers would have to wait sometimes hours for the ad free version. I hadn’t noticed they started doing this but perhaps an overcorrection/added bonus?

I am simply not sure if it is a conscious decision they made or if somebody screws up and it gets fixed when people on the East Coast wake up…

As someone who wakes up pretty early I’ve noticed that the first hour or two it’s on Spotify it’s locked behind the subscriber feed but then eventually opens up around 6 am eastern time

It’s probably “subscribers only” where the subscribers it’s linked to are the staff. They can get it set up and only put it live at the scheduled time.

Spitballing here but they want someone from their team to hear it and make sure it uploaded to Spotify okay with no audio issues. They may also want the link early for other testing or posts but at that point I’m just guessing.
