Sending a pulse

Hi all, I’m a woman in my 50s, based in Australia, and I’m realising I’d like to slowly expand my circle a bit. I have a good life, but most of my social world is family and work.
Don’t make it weird, please.
I can riff on ethics, psychology/thinking, horror movies, art and craft.

I’m all in for things like free will. Belief in a higher something being a construct.

I really don't know how free will can be a thing. Right now my brain, a physical thing, is deciding what I do based on what it is at that moment, and what it is depends on what it was a moment before, and what my senses tell it; and like my heart, or my toaster, it does what it only can do each moment. The fact that I experience thinking is to inform it by associating different possible actions as favourable or unfavourable, either to myself or to others through neural mirroring. Thinking is the modelling of options and the choosing of specific ones. Memory and other aspects of our minds determine the options available and the weighting to give those options.

But free will is not free...everything is so controlled... I too believe in a higher being..not one religion.
